This paper is devoted to the study of the existence and uniqueness of the positive solution for a type of the nonlinear third-order three-point boundary value problem. Our results are based on an iterative method and the Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem.

We provide fuzzy quasi-metric versions of a fixed point theorem ofGregori and Sapena for fuzzy contractive mappings in G-complete fuzzy metricspaces and apply the results to obtain fixed points for contractive mappingsin the domain of words.

We study the existence of positive solutions to the boundary-value problem u + a(t)f(u) = 0, t ∈ (0, 1) u(0) = 0, αu(η) = u(1) , where 0 < η < 1 and 0 < α < 1/η. We show the existence of at least one positive solution if f is either superlinear or sublinear by applying the fixed point theorem in cones.

In this paper, we study a generalized Sturm-Liouville boundaryvalue problems with two positive parameters. By constructing a completely continuous operator and combining fixed point index theorem and some properties of the eigenvalues of linear operators, we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one positive solution.
