the outcome of this research is a practical framework for “idea generation phase of new product development process based on customer knowledge”. in continue, the mentioned framework implemented in a part of iran n.a.b market and result in segmenting and profiling this market. also, the critical new product attributes and bases of communication message and promotion campaigns extracted. we have...

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

Recognizing object classes, such as cars, planes or elephants, in an image or a video remains one of the most challenging problems in Computer Vision. However, recently a number of successes have been achieved by using ideas and algorithms from statistical learning theory, where visual models are trained using positive and negative examples of the class.

Optical Character Recognition software (OCR) are important tools for obtaining accessible texts. We propose the use of artificial neural networks (ANN) in order to develop pattern recognition algorithms capable of recognizing both normal texts and formulae. We present an original improvement of the backpropagation algorithm. Moreover, we describe a novel image segmentation algorithm that exploi...

We characterize four classes of geometric membership and containment orders|structurally and in terms of forbidden subposets| and present linear-or near linear-time recognition algorithms for each class. We also show that recognizing point-halfspace orders in IR d is NP-hard for d 2.

The embedding problem for a class of graphs called rectilinear graphs is discussed. These graphs have applications in many VLSI Layout Problems. An interesting topological characterization of these graphs lead to efficient algorithms for recognizing and embedding rectilinear graphs which are embeddable on the plane.

We describe an event-based, publishand-subscribe system based on using “smart subscriptions” to recognize weakly structured events. We present a hierarchy of subscription languages (propositional, predicate, temporal and agent) of increasing expressability and computational complexity, and several algorithms (Sig, Memo, Lattice, Compile and RETE) for efficiently recognizing event matches. We ha...
