Laminar mixed convection of Aluminium oxide (Al2O3)–water nanofluid flow in an inclined annulus using a single-phase approach was numerically studied. Constant heat flux boundary conditions were applied on the inner and outer walls. All the thermophysical properties of nanofluid, such as, viscosity, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient, except density in the bo...

This paper investigates symmetrical buckling of orthotropic circular and annular plates of continuous variable thickness. Uniform compression loading is applied at the plate outer boundary. Thickness varies linearly along radial direction. Inner edge is free, while outer edge has different boundary conditions: clamped, simply and elastically restraint against rotation. The optimized RayLeigh-Ri...

this study was aimed to investigate the bending moment and stress (inner and outer corners) in lshaped biscuit joint made of solid wood, particleboard and medium density fiberboard (mdf). for this purpose, l-shaped joints made of beech and fir, particleboard and mdf by biscuit size numbers of 0 (47×15×3.8 mm), 10 (53×19×3.8mm) and 20 (60×23×3.8mm). bending moment and stress carrying capacity of...

Software pipelining is a technique to improve the performance of a loop by overlapping the execution of several iterations. The execution of a software-pipelined loop goes through three phases: prolog, kernel, and epilog. Software pipelining works best if most of the time is spent in the kernel phase rather than in the prolog or epilog phases. This can happen only if the trip count of a pipelin...

in this work, the effects of as-doped on the adsorption of oxygen gas on the outer and inner surface ofboron nitride nanotube (bnnts) is investigated. the structural parameters, quantum properties involving:bond length, bond angle, homo-lumo orbital, gapenergy, electron affinity, electronegativity, chemicalpotential, global hardness, global softness and nmr parameters of bnnts are calculated at...

We propose a two-layer, semidecentralized algorithm to compute local solution the Stackelberg equilibrium problem in aggregative games with coupling constraints. Specifically, we focus on single-leader, multiple-follower problem, and after equivalently recasting game as mathematical program complementarity constraints (MPCC), iteratively convexify regularized version of MPCC inner whose generat...

The behavior of the flow between two coaxial conical cylinders with the inner one rotating and the outer one stationary is studied numerically. The angular velocity of the inner cone cylinder was raised step by step from the rest until reaching its final speed. In this work we first present a numerical simulation of the flow characteristics and the heat transfer mechanism of a fluid in the spac...

We consider a class of smoothing methods for minimization problems where the feasible set is convex but the objective function is not convex, not differentiable and perhaps not even locally Lipschitz at the solutions. Such optimization problems arise from wide applications including image restoration, signal reconstruction, variable selection, optimal control, stochastic equilibrium and spheric...

We propose a block Davidson-type subspace iteration using Chebyshev polynomial filters for large symmetric/hermitian eigenvalue problem. The method consists of three essential components. The first is an adaptive procedure for constructing efficient block Chebyshev polynomial filters; the second is an inner–outer restart technique inside a Chebyshev–Davidson iteration that reduces the computati...

In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.
