Minority language communities that are seeking to develop their language may be hampered by a lack of vernacular materials. Large volumes of such materials may be available in a related language. Automated adaptation holds potential to enable these large volumes of materials to be efficiently translated into the resource-scarce language. I describe a project to assess the feasibility of automat...
We deal with the Ambrosio-Tortorelli approximation of the well-known Mumford-Shah functional to model quasi-static crack propagation in brittle materials. We employ anisotropic mesh adaptation to efficiently capture the crack path. Aim of this work is to investigate the numerical sensitivity of the crack behavior to the parameters involved in both the physical model and in the adaptive procedure.
Objective Rehabilitation of the spinal cord injury is a continuous process needing adaptation in all aspects of life. Successful adaptation to challenging situations is called "resilience". Occupational therapists can help the person reconstruct his/ her identity and adapt by improving their resilience. It is also extensive and diverse in concept and definition. It is extremely in...
Species of the genus Chryseobacterium belonging to the family Flavobacteriaceae are nonmotile, yellow-pigmented, and rod-shaped bacteria, some of which were frequently isolated from soil or plant-related materials. Here, we present draft genome sequences of three type strains of Chryseobacterium, which contain genes related to plant growth promotion, colonization, or stress adaptation.
OBJECTIVE This study compared the marginal adaptation of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and MTA-like materials as root-end fillings after incubation in phosphate buffer saline (PBS), a synthetic tissue fluid, for either 1 week or 2 months. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this experimental study, seventy-two extracted human single-rooted teeth were prepared and obturated with gutta-percha and AH26 ...
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to introduce modified continuous wave compaction (MCWC) technique and compare its obturation quality with that of lateral compaction (LC), warm vertical compaction (WVC) and continuous wave compaction techniques (CWC). The obturation time was also compared among the four techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty-four single-rooted teeth with 0-5° root canal ...
Introduction: Psychological hardiness is a personal factor and social support is regarded as an environmental factor that can facilitate adjustment to disease. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between adaptation with psychological hardiness and social support in individuals with Multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods: Seventy two females with MS and 25 males with MSwere selected thro...
Introduction: One of the most important events that can happen in a man's life, is becoming a father, which causes huge changes in men's personality, lifestyle and identity. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between adaptation with paternal role and its fatherhood and offspring predictive factors in fathers attending to healthcare centers in Rasht. Methods: The present stu...
Introduction: As one of the chronic diseases, epilepsy can affect children's self-steam and life satisfaction by lowering self-steam, that leads to social isolation, reduced self-efficacy and finally affects their adaptation to the disease. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between demographic characteristics (individual and clinical) and adaptation (based on RO...
