Magnetoinductive waves propagating along a line consisting of two kinds of metamaterial elements are studied. Both elements are made up by the same metallic loop but are loaded by different capacitors resulting in different resonant frequencies. The dispersion characteristics are derived from phase and amplitude measurements for the cases when the line consists of (i) identical elements and (ii...

Hybrid micro-architected materials with unique combinations of high stiffness, high damping, and low density are presented. We demonstrate a scalable manufacturing process to fabricate hollow microlattices with a sandwich wall architecture comprising an elastomeric core and metallic skins. In this configuration, the metallic skins provide stiffness and strength, whereas the elastomeric core pro...

this review reports recent advances in metallic nanostructures based electrochemical sensors. interesting aspects of nps include size and shape-dependent interatomic bond distances, melting points, chemical reactivity, and optical and electronic properties. the small size of metallic nanostructures has allowed nanoscale electrochemical processes to be probed. electrochemical characteristics can...

The Zouzan area is located in the SE of Torbat-e- Heydarieh city (NE Iran). This area is located on north part of the Lut block which consists of basaltic andesite, tuff and porphyritic andesite. The purpose of this research is to investigate the enrichment of metal elements in the Zouzan area and provide a metallic geochemical model. For this purpose, 488 stream samples were analyzed using by ...

Metallic elements participating in the processes like: oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, mitochondrial dysfunction or protein aggregation may lead to the atrophy and death of neurons in case of some neurodegenerative disorders [2-4]. Because epileptic seizures induce neurodegeneration in selected areas of brain it is suspected that metals may be involved in the pathogenesis and progress of epil...

Protein detection at the femtomolar level can be achieved by using metallic nanoparticle assemblies that function as surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy reporters and that contain suitable surface-bound recognition elements. Proper control of the interaction between nanoparticles within the assemblies is critical for achieving this performance.

The statistical treatment of resonating covalent bonds in metals, previously applied to hypoelectronic metals, is extended to hyperelectronic metals and to metals with two kinds of bonds. The theory leads to half-integral values of the valence for hyperelectronic metallic elements.
