The 2002 NAHM's Dairy Survey indicated that 87.2% of dairy farms in the United States feed waste milk to their neonatal calves. Although cost-effective, this practice can lead to increased calf morbidity and mortality due to ingestion of pathogenic agents. In an effort to reduce the risk of infection, dairy producers are implementing on-farm pasteurization of the waste milk as a control procedu...
Abstract This study aimed to examine the effect of shortening effective heat treatment time by 15 minutes for finely and coarsely chopped sausages canned meat in pieces packed polyamide casings with diameters 75 90 mm. Product safety was ensured accordance legislation producer food system. Optimization led a decrease p-values (diameter 90: 148.8 → 97.64 minutes; diameter 75: 111.2 58.4 min), co...
Ohmic heating is an alternative fast heating technique for food products, which takes its name from Ohm's law. The basic principle of ohmic heating is the conversion of electrical energy into heat, resulting in internal energy generation. In this study, an experimental ohmic heating unit was designed and fabricated. Four kinds of liquid food materials (tap water, fruit-vegetable juice, yogurt a...
A general condition for sharp transition of decay rate from quantum to thermal regimes is derived in dissipative tunneling models when positiondependent mass is involved. It is shown that the effect of dissipation in general changes the order of the phase transition. Especially, for the models with constant mass the Ohmic dissipation enlarges the range of parameters for first order phase transi...

In this article we present infinitely many 3–manifolds admitting infinitely many universally tight contact structures each with trivial Ozsváth–Szabó contact invariants. By known properties of these invariants the contact structures constructed in this article are non weakly symplectically fillable.
