We consider dynamic scenes consisting of moving points whose motion is constrained to happen in one of a pencil of planes. This is for example the case when rigid objects move independently, but on a common ground plane (each point moves in one of a pencil of planes parallel to the ground plane). We consider stereo pairs of the dynamic scene, taken by a moving stereo system, that allow to obtai...

Introduction: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the major causes of visual loss among the elderly. It causes degeneration of cells in the macula. Early diagnosis can be helpful in preventing blindness. Drusen are the initial symptoms of AMD. Since drusen have a wide variety, locating them in screening images is difficult and time-consuming. An automated digital fundus photography...

In this article we give characteristic properties of the simplicial homology groups of digital images which are based on the simplicial homology groups of topological spaces in algebraic topology. We then investigate EilenbergSteenrod axioms for the simplicial homology groups of digital images. We state universal coefficient theorem for digital images. We conclude that the Künneth formula for s...

Background and purpose: Dual-energy mammography is a technique which is used to enhance the accuracy of breast cancer diagnosis especially in dense breasts. This study was conducted based on the simultaneous use of two contrast agents for automatic separation and also to evaluate their accuracy using dual-energy digital mammography. Materials and methods: A breast phantom was designed and b...

Due to high speed computer networks, the use of digitally formatted data has increased many folds. The digital data can be duplicated and edited with great ease which has led to a need for effectivecopyright protection tools. Digital Watermarking is a technology of embedding watermark withintellectual property rights into images, videos, audios and other multimedia data by a certainalgorithm .Di...

In this paper an Automatic System for Image Digital Capturing (ASIDC) is described. The aim of ASIDC is to create high resolution digital images depicting paintings of large size. The system creates a set of N digital images presenting sequential frames of the total picture. By using software we proceed to the mosaicing (pasting) of the images producing the complete detailed digital image.

conclusions the designed software was able to detect a significant number of dentin caries and acceptable measuring of the depth of carious lesions in enamel and dentin. however, the software had limited ability in detecting enamel lesions. background radiographs, adjunct to clinical examination are always valuable complementary methods for dental caries detection. recently, progressing in digi...

OBJECTIVES The transition from analogue to digital radiography may have reduced the motivation to perform proper collimation, as digital techniques have made it possible to mask areas irradiated outside the area of diagnostic interest (ADI). We examined the hypothesis that collimation practices have deteriorated since digitalisation. METHODS After defining the ADI, we compared the proportion ...

Microscopic images of haematological cells are now routinely photographed using digital cameras. Advances in technology mean that the quality of such digital images can now approach that viewed through a microscope. At the same time there is an emerging appreciation that such images can be used in many roles: digital images are now being used to construct digital virtual slides , or are being e...

There is a high demand for mosaicking of digital images. The digital images are of different formats, different resolutions, band combinations, sizes, etc. This increases the complexity of the mosaicking of images. We propose a dynamic, real-time approach for mosaicking digital images of different temporal and spatial characteristics into tiles. Also, the source images at the time of mosaicking...
