a new powerful optimization algorithm inspired from colonizing weeds is utilized to solve the well-known quadratic assignment problem (qap) which is of application in a large number of practical areas such as plant layout, machinery layout and so on. a set of reference numerical problems from qaplib is taken in order to evaluate the efficiency of the algorithm compared with the previous ones wh...
Watermarking systems have specific feathers in accordance with their applications. In many applications transparency and robustness are needed which are the most important features. These two features are in contrast to each other and are controlled by a parameter named watermark strength. With decreasing the watermark strength, transparency of the watermarking system increases while the robust...
In today's design, system complexity and increasing demand for safer, more efficient and less costly systems have created new challenges in science and engineering. Locomotives are products which are designed according to market order and technical needs of customers. Accordingly, targets of companies, especially designers and manufacturers of locomotives, have always been on the path of progre...
This paper offers a postcolonial feminist reading of John 7:53-8:11, which focuses on the imperialistic background behind text. The issue is that violence experienced by women in text not solely influenced patriarchal culture. aim this to analyze more deeply, particularly influence Roman Empire during time. method used hermeneutics developed Musa W. We study an online model of fair division designed to capture features of a real world charity problem. We consider two simple mechanisms for this model in which agents simply declare what items they like. We analyse axiomatic properties of these mechanisms such as strategy-proofness and envy freeness. Finally, we perform a competitive analysis and compute the price of anarchy.
In this paper we investigate parallel searching on m concurrent rays. We assume that a target t is located somewhere on one of the rays and that a group of m point robots has to reach t. Furthermore, we assume that the robots have no way of communicating over distance. Given a strategy S we are interested in the competitive ratio which is deened as the ratio of the time needed by the robots usi...

Imperial expansion is recurrent in human history. For early empires, such as in ancient China, this process generally is known from texts that glorify and present the perspective of vectors. The legacy of the Qin king, Shihuangdi, who first unified China in 221 BC, remains vital, but we have few details about the consequences of his distant conquests or how they changed the path of local histor...
Using a field experiment in China, we study whether migration status is correlated with attitudes toward risk, ambiguity, and competitiveness. Our subjects include migrants and non-migrants. We find that, migrants exhibit no differences from non-migrants in risk and ambiguity preferences elicited using pairs of lotteries; however, migrants are significantly more likely to enter competition in t...
Exercising is an activity in which the presence of others can motivate an individual to surpass his / her own limits. In recent years, technology has changed the way we carry out these activities. User commitment has been shown to be dependent on, among other, peer pressure. The introduction of challengeable virtual opponents broadened the spectrum of possibilities, enabling users to be motivat...
