Rechargeable zinc air batteries (RZABs), which repeatedly store and release charges through the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) reduction (ORR) using electrocatalysts, are considered a promising energy storage system owing to their low cost safety. Controlling chemical structure morphology of multifunctional electrocatalysts is crucial for improving electrocatalytic activities stabilities high ...

The new complexes tetra-platinum(II)-thiopyridylporphyrin 3 and tetra-platinum(II)-thiopyridylporphyrinato Zn(II) 4 were obtained by coordination of the peripheral thiopyridyl units of the free-base 5,10,15,20-tetrakis[2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-(4-pyridylsulfanyl)phenyl]porphyrin 1 or their corresponding zinc complex 2, respectively, with four chloro(2,2'-bipyridine)platinum(II) [Pt(bpy)Cl](+) unit...

The lack of high-efficient, low-cost, and durable bifunctional electrocatalysts that act simultaneously for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is currently one of the major obstacles to commercializing the electrical rechargeability of zinc-air batteries. A nanocomposite CoO-NiO-NiCo bifunctional electrocatalyst supported by nitrogen-doped multiwall carb...

Cobalt-containing polyoxotitanates (TiCo) are excellent precursors for the simple and scalable preparation of Nocera-type CoOx water-oxidation electrocatalysts. The TiCo cages serve as a reservoir for cobalt ions in a titania matrix on fluoride-doped tin oxide electrodes, and form, in situ, the active CoOx catalyst for O2 evolution with high stability in phosphate buffer in pH neutral water.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of copper and aluminum-zinc oxide nanoparticles and their synergistic effects with conventional biocides against Bacillus cereus. Methods: Synthesis of copper-zinc oxide, aluminum-zinc oxide nanoparticles performed via co- precipitation method and nanoparticle properties were investigated using FTIR, XRD and TEM. The antimicro...

In this study, the extract of coffee powder for green synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles has been used because it is compatibility with the environment and it does not produce any toxic substances in the reaction. Then, the interaction of zinc oxide nanoparticles with calf thymus DNA with various spectroscopic methods such as UV-Visible, fluorescence and circular dichroism (CD) techniques wa...

The scalable production of hydrogen could conveniently be realized by alkaline water electrolysis. Currently, the major challenge confronting hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is lacking inexpensive alternatives to platinum-based electrocatalysts. Here we report a high-efficient and stable electrocatalyst composed of ruthenium and cobalt bimetallic nanoalloy encapsulated in nitrogen-doped graph...

Discovering low-cost, durable and highly active electrocatalysts with reduced use of precious platinum group metals (PGM) as catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen reduction (ORR), (OER) is a key step large-scale adaptation fuel cells, electrolyzers, metal-air batteries. Here we explore stability mechanisms synthesized one-dimensional transition metal dithiolene wire (TM-DW...

Control of structure at the atomic level can precisely and effectively tune catalytic properties of materials, enabling enhancement in both activity and durability. We synthesized a highly active and durable class of electrocatalysts by exploiting the structural evolution of platinum-nickel (Pt-Ni) bimetallic nanocrystals. The starting material, crystalline PtNi3 polyhedra, transforms in soluti...
