Polyphenoloxidase (PPO; EC 1.14.18.1) extracted from Mentha arvensis leaves was isolated by (NH4)2SO4 precipitation and extensive dialysis. Its optimum pH and temperature varied with the substrate. Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult. (Caprifoliaceae), collected from Küre Mountains National Park (Kastamonu Section), is reported for the first time flora of Turkey. A brief description plant along with photographs and distribution map given. Additionally, its taxonomic relationship other closely allied taxa are examined discussed.
