A nonlinear diffusion based image denoising technique is introduced in this paper. The proposed PDE denoising and restoration scheme is based on a novel diffusivity function that uses an automatically detected conductance parameter. A robust mathematical treatment is also provided for our anisotropic diffusion model. We demonstrate that edge-stopping function model is properly chosen, explainin...

Arising from research in the computer science community, constraint programming is a relatively new technique for solving optimization problems. For those familiar with mathematical programming, there are a number of language barriers that exist that make it difficult to understand the concepts of constraint programming. This paper, which assumes a minimal background in linear and integer progr...

This paper describes the improvements in r-HuEPO therapy of uremic patients that may be obtained by using a mathematical model of patient response together with a delivery control strategy derived from the theory of industrial control. A mathematical model of r-HuEPO action is presented, and its applicability to dialytic patients is shown. Moreover, a new statistical technique for identifying t...

due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...

in this thesis, a better reaction conditions for the synthesis of spirobarbiturates catalyzed by task-specific ionic liquid (2-hydroxy-n-(2-hydroxyethyl)-n,n-dimethylethanaminium formate), calcium hypochlorite ca(ocl)2 or n-bromosuccinimide (nbs) in the presence of water at room temperature by ultrasonic technique is provided. the design and synthesis of spirocycles is a challenging task becaus...

This study aims to develop an Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System technique (ANFIS) and using the parameters of a complex mathematical model in the RO membrane performances. The ANFIS was constructed by using a subtractive clustering method to generate initial fuzzy inference systems. The model trained by 70% of the data set and then its validity is examined by remained 30% data set. ...

Effective visualizations can help researchers obtain a more complete understanding of high level mathematical functions that arise in mathematics, statistics, physics, fluid dynamics and other fields of the mathematical and physical sciences. Accordingly, dynamic interactive 3D graphs of function surfaces will be a key feature of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Digital Librar...

A general technique is developed to retrieve the fractal dimension of self-similar soils through microwave (radar) scattering. The technique is based on a mathematical model relating the fractal dimensions of the georadargram to that of the scattering structure. Clear and different fractal signatures have been observed over four geosystems (soils and sediments) compared in this work.

In this paper, we review statistical techniques for the direct evaluation of descriptive phrases and introduce a new technique based on mutual information. In the experiments, we apply this technique to different types of frequent sequences, hereby finding mathematical justification of former empirical practice.

Data mining partitioning is performed on attributes to increase data concentration. To choose effective partitioning attributes, a rough set based technique that measures the crispiness of the partitioning is presented. This technique is based on the mathematical theory of rough sets. This method is a simple and efficient approach to measure the crispiness of the partition in data mining.
