We have measured the nuclear DNA content of the major life cycle stages of Trypanosoma congolense, in two clones of geographically distant origin. We find that nuclear DNA content in epimastigote, mammalian blood-stream and metacyclic forms is constant and that the nuclear DNA contents of the two clones were 0.1 pg and 0.09 pg, respectively.

Let FG be a group algebra of a finite non-abelian pgroup G and F a field of characteristic p. In this paper we give all minimal non-abelian p-groups and minimal non-metacyclic p-groups whose group algebras FG possess a filtered multiplicative F -basis.

We construct and study two series of curves whose Jacobians admit complex multiplication. The curves arise as quotients of Galois coverings of the projective line with Galois group metacyclic groups Gq,3 of order 3q with q ≡ 1 mod 3 an odd prime, and Gm of order 2 .
