The convergence of application domains in new systems-on-chip results in hybrid systems with many intellectual property components with a mix of soft and hard real-time requirements. Resources, such as memories and interconnect , are shared between requestors to reduce cost. However, resource sharing introduces interference between the sharing components, referred to as requestors, making it di...
We study a processor sharing queue with a limited number of service positions and an infinite buffer. The occupied service positions share an underlying resource. We prove that for service times with a decreasing failure rate, the queue length is stochastically decreasing in the number of service positions, and that for service times with an increasing failure rate, the queue length is stochast...
Nowadays, service compositions are increasingly used to execute business processes. During the execution of a service composition, a service failure leads to a necessary re-planning. Due to such runtime events, the ex-post realized Quality of Service (QoS) values and thus the realized utility of an executed service composition may be significantly lower than the ex-ante computed one. The presen...
Background: Previous studies have shown that several factors affect the outcome of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In this study, we have evaluated the factors associated with the outcome of resuscitation in in-hospital cardiopulmonary arrest patients (IHCA) 002E. Methods: This cross-sectional non-probability study was performed on patients with in-hospital cardiopulmonary arrest between 2015 a...

This paper studies a capacity management problem in which a facility provider offers its facility to two service providers. The facility provider can either pool the service providers together to share the facility or reserve a dedicated facility for the service providers. The service providers determine their service capacity levels to serve each market with linear time-sensitive demand. We as...
Introduction: Majority of health systems across the world are experiencing challenges in their performance, quality, equity, and efficacy because financial resources limitation. To deal with, they use different method of financial allocation resources and payment systems. Methods: This comparative descriptive research is dedicated to financing methods and payment systems to the health service p...
The asymptotic decay rate of the sojourn time of a customer in the stationary M/G/1 queue under the Foreground Background (FB) service discipline is studied. The FB discipline gives service to those customers that have received the least service so far. It is shown that this decay rate attains the lowest possible value for a work-conserving discipline.
