The purpose of this note is to use covering space theory to construct new examples of buildings. On the level of Coxeter systems, this contsruction was described previously in Davis [4]. It goes as follows. Start with a Coxeter system (W ′, S). Change some m(s, t)’s in its Coxeter matrix from integers ≥ 2 to the symbol ∞ . This defines a new Coxeter system (W, S). Suppose C′ is a building of ty...

This article contains a new argument which proves vanishing of the first cohomology for negative vector bundles over a complex projective variety if the rank of the bundle is smaller than the dimension of the base. Similar argument is applied to the construction of holomorphic functions on the universal covering of the complex projective variety .

This paper describes certain properties of the fundamental group of the shrinking wedge of circles. Covering space theory is an inadequate tool since the shrinking wedge of circles is not semi-locally simply connected. We conclude with the fact that the shrinking wedge of circles is not homotopy equivalent to the wedge product of a countable number of circles.

A well-known and fundamental property of graphs is Hamiltonicity. A connected graph is Hamiltonian if it contains a spanning cycle. Determining if a graph is Hamiltonian is known as a NP-complete problem and no satisfactory characterization exists. Nevertheless, many sufficient conditions for Hamiltonicity were found, usually expressed in terms of degree, connectivity, density, toughness, indep...

The aim of this study is twofold. First, we expand on the literature by testing whether generalized trust is negatively related to anti-immigrant sentiments in Europe. Second, we examine to what extent the relation between generalized trust and anti-immigrant sentiments is dependent upon cross-group friendships. We apply multilevel linear regression modeling to representative survey data enrich...

L Introduction. There are two different notions of fibering that have been investigated in the realm of topology. The one is the notion of a fibre bundle, defined by Whitney [ll]2 and improved by Steenrod [8]; the other is that of a fibre space, introduced by HurewiczSteenrod [6] and generalized by Fox [3]. These two notions do not coincide, as remarked by Steenrod, [8, p. 302]; there are fibre...

In this paper, three types of (philosophical, optimistic and pessimistic) multigranulation single valued neutrosophic (SVN) covering-based rough set models are presented, and these three models are applied to the problem of multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM).Firstly, a type of SVN covering-based rough set model is proposed.Based on this rough set model, three types of mult...

The Fox-Wright generalization of the classical hypergeometric function is used to introduce a new class of complex valued harmonic functions which are orientation preserving and univalent in the open unit disc. Among the results presented in this paper include the coefficient bounds, distortion inequality and covering property, extreme points and certain inclusion results for this generalized c...
