supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-co2) was used as solvent to synthesize oleyl oleate as an analog of jojoba oil from oleic acid and oleyl alcohol with high conversion (100%) of the acid into ester in a short time of 100 min. utilizing a low cost solid catalyst, p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (ptsa), the esterification reaction was performed, without any prior preparation step, in a flow mod...

Silica tungstic acid (STA) has been found to be an efficient and reusable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes via the three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and β-naphthol. STA as a novel solid acid was characterized by X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

1-Methyl-3-(2-oxyethyl)-1H-Imidazol-3-ium-Borate Sulfonic Acid ([MOEI]-BSA) was easily prepared and used as a new and highly efficient solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives with high isolated yields. Various substituted benzimidazoles were synthesized by a combination of o-phenylenediamines and aldehydes in the presence of [MOEI]-BSA with excellent yields in water a...

In this study, the effects of carboxymethyl cellulose-low methyl pectin based edible coatings containing ascorbic acid antioxidant were investigated on optimum immersion time during osmotic dehydration of quince sheets. The selection of coating type was based on natural composition of fruits peel, (i.e cellulose) and pectin and the osmotic solutions were formulated on the basis of natural ingre...

In this research the effect of application of different levels of folic acid and time on some quality and agronomic characteristics of strawberry (cultivar Paros) was investigated. The plants were treated by folic acid with concentrations of 0, 20 and 40 mM at two stages (30 days after planting and first blooming) as a factorial experiment using a randomized complete block design with four repl...

Abstract A series of aryl sulfonic acids were tested as catalysts for acid hydrolysis occurring at the surface poly(ethylene) terephthalate (PET) particles. Specifically, p‐toluenesulfonic monohydrate (PTSA), 2‐naphthalenesulfonic (2‐NSA), and 1,5‐naphthalenedisulfonic tetrahydrate (1,5‐NDSA) chosen to provide active groups varying hydrophobic functionality. The effect catalyst concentration re...

Allergen extracts are prepared from a wide variety of source materials including pollens, fungi, arthropods, animal danders, foods, and dusts. The composition of allergen extracts can vary depending on the allergen source, manufacturing process, and storage conditions. Allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) assays and skin tests employ a variety of allergen-containing reagents that confer spe...

BACKGROUND Immunodeficiency is a heterogenous group of diseases affecting different components of the immune system. Patterns of infection, etiology and organ involvement are not similar in this risky population. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of congenital and acquiring immunodeficiencies and also recognizing the most common infections and affected organs. MATERIALS AND...

Leiomyosarcomas of soft tissue are the rare tumors and the retroperitoneum is the most common site involved. We report a case of primary leiomyosarcoma of the peritoneal cavity which clinically presented with suprapubic, freely mobile, nontender mass which measured 10×10 cm in size. Contrast enhanced computed tomography revealed well defined heterogenous hypodense solid cystic mass. The mass wa...

Glomus tumor is an infrequent and in most cases benign mesenchymal neoplasia which affects subcutaneous/submucosal tissue and occurs in the gastrointestinal tract, solid organs (e.g. liver, kidney) and the extremities. Visceral glomus tumor of the stomach generally presents with non-specific epigastric pain, loss of appetite and GI bleeding (melaena), often without haemodynamic instability. Mac...
