We have extracted QCD matrix elements from our data on doubly polarized inelastic scattering of electrons on nuclei. We find the higher twist matrix element d˜2, which arises strictly from quark-gluon interactions, to be unambiguously nonzero. The data also reveal an isospin dependence of higher twist effects if we assume that the Burkhardt-Cottingham sum rule is valid. The fundamental Bjorken ...

We present the combinatorial design for a kind of matrices called all-adjacent matrices. Such a matrix is constructed from a given set of elements; each element of the matrix is adjacent, within some column, to every other element of the set. We present the algorithm for constructing an all-adjacent matrix. These matrices have an important application—to the laying out of logical disks in a sha...

in this work we simulated the representative volume element (rve) of carbon nanotube (cnt) which is surrounded by high temperature superconductor (ybco) by using ansys finite element software. first we considered perfect model (for ybco and cnt) and investigated the effect of radius, length, and the number of nanotube in young’s modulus of the ybco by applying force on rve. then, a third region...

The aim of present study is to investigate the effect of various parameters such as length, thickness, density, shear modulus of the core and Young modulus of skins for various boundary conditions:  clamped-free and simply supported. By applying the model of Khalili et al for frees vibration analysis of sandwich beams by using finite element methods. Where, the core density is taken on consider...

Matrices with random (or pseudo-random) elements appear naturally in different physical problems and their statistical properties have been thoroughly investigated (see e.g. [1]). A special case of random matrices, called distance matrices, has been recently proposed in [2]. They are defined for any metric space X with a probability measure μ on it as follows. Choose N points ~xj ∈ X randomly d...

We present a general method to combine next-to-leading order (NLO) matrix elements in QCD with leading logarithmic parton showers by applying a suitably modified version of the phase-space-slicing method. The method consists of subsuming the NLO corrections into a scale-dependent phase-space-slicing parameter, which is then automatically adjusted to cut out the leading order, virtual, soft and ...

In the current paper, finite element method is employed for numerical simulations and the study of influential parameters on elastic modulus of polymer-matrix nano-composites. Effects of different key parameters including particle elastic modulus, interphase elastic modulus, matrix elastic modulus, interphase thickness and particle volume fraction on total elastic modulus of nano-composite mate...

The hierarchical quark masses and small mixing angles are shown to lead to a simple triangular form for the U and D-type quark mass matrices. In the basis where one of the matrices is diagonal, each matrix element of the other is, to a good approximation, the product of a quark mass and a CKM matrix element. The physical content of a general mass matrix can be easily deciphered in its triangula...

The nuclear matrix element determining the pp→de^{+}ν fusion cross section and the Gamow-Teller matrix element contributing to tritium β decay are calculated with lattice quantum chromodynamics for the first time. Using a new implementation of the background field method, these quantities are calculated at the SU(3) flavor-symmetric value of the quark masses, corresponding to a pion mass of m_{...

Fixed-point simulation results are used for the performance measure of inverting matrices using a reconfigurable processing element. Matrices are inverted using the Cholesky decomposition algorithm. The reconfigurable processing element is capable of all required mathematical operations. The fixed-point word length analysis is based on simulations of different condition numbers and different ma...
