We improve parse error detection, weighting dependency information on the basis of simulated parses. Such simulations extend the training grammar, and, although the simulations are not wholly correct or incorrect—as observed from the results with different weightings for small treebanks—they help to determine whether a new parse fits the training grammar.
Given n clones with some positive ones, the problem of DNA screening is to identify all positive clones with a set of tests each on a subset of clones, called a pool and the outcome is either the pool contains a positive clone or not. In this paper, we show that for a class of designs, if we apply those for samples with d positive clones to samples with at most d−1 positive clones, the error-to...
• The code is error-correcting, i.e., even if a code word is changed to some extent (by error or maliciously), we can still decode it. This implies that the code words should be as different from each other as possible, since if, for example, there are two code words that are different in only one letter, then if this letter is changed, the decoding is wrong, thus the code is not even single-er...
Exports and Economic Growth in Asian Developing Countries: Cointegration and Error-Correction Models
This paper uses cointegration and error-correction models to analyze the causal relationship between export growth and economic growth in eight Asian developing countries using annual data from 1960 to 1997. While conventional wisdom suggests that export growth contribute positively to economic growth, this study also provides strong evidence supporting the export-led growth hypothesis. The emp...
We propose a pattern projection method for one-shot active 3D shape measurement to reconstruct movable or deformable scenes. In our method, just one projection pattern which has scene slant-invariant features is used to solve the correspondence between camera and projector pixel coordinates. Additionally, in order to correct correspondence in complex scenes which include discontinuous and overl...
Automatic error correction systems for English as a Second Language(ESL) speakers often rely on the use of a confusion set to limit the choices of possible correction candidates. Typically, the confusion sets are either manually constructed or extracted from a corpus of manually corrected ESL writings. Both options require the involvement of English teachers. This paper proposes a method to aut...
This paper presents a new decoding method of redundant residue polynomial codes. The decoding method has an advantage of correcting errors easily by checking the degree of the product of a polynomial corresponding to a received code and the moduli corresponding to error positions. The number of operations needed fbr this decoding method is about 1/10-11100 tirnes as Iarge as that needed fbr the...
less, for any burst of length 11 or less induces at most a burst of length 3 or less and one of length 8 or less in the respective classes of digit positions. Some codes obtained along the same lines are listed in Table II, where (b,, bz) and (n, + n,) mean that the code is a combination of a burst-b, code with code-length n, and a burst-b, code with code-length n 2, each of which is generated ...

The paper analyzes the types of errors encountered in automatic spoken surveys. These errors are different from the ones that appear when surveys are taken by humans because they are caused by the imprecision of an automatic system. Previous studies presented a strategy that consists in the robust detection of subjective opinions about a particular topic in a spoken message. If the same automat...
