We examine a recently published calculation which predicts an oscillatory behaviour for the decay of Λs produced together with a neutral kaon, and proposes a new expression for the wavelength of kaon strangeness oscillations. We modify the calculation by imposing the requirement that the interference of the K L and K S components of the kaon wave function occurs at a specific space-time point. ...
We present a direct measurement of the parity-violating parameter A b by analyzing the left-right forward-backward asymmetry of b quarks in polarized Z 0 decays with a nal state kaon charge tag. The 1994-1995 SLD data sample of 100,000 hadronic Z 0 decays produced with a highly polarized electron beam is used for this analysis. A b-enriched sample is obtained from a vertex-mass tag using a CCD-...
Associated strangeness production close to threshold is a particularly clean example of how energy is converted into hadronic matter. Final results from the completed experiments of the PS185 collaboration at LEAR/ CERN, using the antiproton-proton interaction to produce antihyperon-hyperon pairs, demonstrate that such studies form a powerful tool. First results from the ongoing investigations ...
The strong decays of the π quark-antiquark states are investigated in the framework of the 3 P 0 meson decay model. It is found that the π(2070), η(2100), and η(2225) appear to be the convincing 4 1 S 0 q ¯ q states while the assignment of the η(2010) and η(2190) as the 4 1 S 0 isoscalar states is not favored by their widths. In the presence of the π(2070), η(2100), and η(2225) being the member...
Available data on measured observables allow deriving estimates for some of the phenomenological parameters that characterize the timeevolution and decay of the neutral kaon system based on the hypothesis of complete positivity. The present experimental uncertainties are still too large to permit a full test of complete positivity.
The theory of rare K decays is reviewed, emphasizing short-distance processes and the prospects to probe the physics of flavour. A brief overview of the subject is presented, along with a more detailed discussion of the theory of K → πνν̄ decays. Invited Talk presented at KAON 2001 International Conference on CP Violation, Pisa, 12-17 June 2001
Recent results on rare kaon decays are reviewed and prospects for future experiments are discussed.
In this study, we have investigated the two-body hadronic decay of charged kaon, $ K^{+}\rightarrow\pi^{+}+\pi^{0} $, in presence a laser field with circular polarization. We derived, by analytical techniques, laser-assisted width and branching ratio kaon via channel. also taken into consideration impressive results obtained for leptonic mode order to understand more clearly effect on quantitie...
The energy dependence of the total kaon production cross sections in baryon baryon (N and ∆) collisions are studied in the resonance model, which is a relativistic, tree-level treatment. This study is the first attempt to complete a systematic, consistent investigation of the elementary kaon production reactions for both the pion baryon and baryon baryon reactions. Our model suggests that the m...
Future kaon decay programs at BNL and FNAL are discussed. The primary focus of these programs is the measurement of the golden modes, K • L → π • νν and K + → π + νν. The observation of K + → π + νν by E787 at BNL is the first step in a series of measurements which will completely determine the unitarity triangle within the kaon system. The next step after E787 in the measurement of B(K + → π +...
