quality properties of groundwater is one of the major components which can used for water resources management. in this study, spatial variability of groundwater quality for drinking uses (schoeller standards) and agricultural uses (wilcox standards) was investigated during 1387-1392.in this research, we use information of 24 observation wells in fasa plain, to investigate the spatial variabili...

Let an unbiased coin be used to form an ω-sequence S of independent tosses. Let N be the positive integers. The finite initial segment of length n ∈ N is denoted by Sn (thus, S1 holds exactly the first toss). For n ∈ N , let Hn be the proportion of heads that show up in Sn. Pick a positive real number D, to be thought of as a number of standard deviations from the mean of the standard normal di...

Fault localization is a major activity in program debugging. To automate this time-consuming task, many existing fault-localization techniques compare passed executions and failed executions, and suggest suspicious program elements, such as predicates or statements, to facilitate the identification of faults. To do that, these techniques propose statistical models and use hypothesis testing met...

Statistical methods for the analysis of data can be classed as descriptive or as probabilistic. The former methods include tabulation and graphical display, of great importance both in detailed analysis and also in presentation of conclusions. Probability enters statistical analysis in various ways. The most obvious is that one recognizes explicitly that conclusions drawn from limited data are ...

A novel approach is proposed for the problem of testing statistical hypotheses about the fuzzy mean of a fuzzy random variable. The concept of the (uniformly) most powerful test is extended to the (uniformly) most powerful fuzzy-valued test in which the test function is a fuzzy set representing the degrees of rejection and acceptance of the hypothesis of interest. For this purpose, the concepts o...

Convex rank tests are partitions of the symmetric group which have desirable geometric properties. The statistical tests defined by such partitions involve counting all permutations in the equivalence classes. Each class consists of the linear extensions of a partially ordered set specified by data. Our methods refine existing rank tests of non-parametric statistics, such as the sign test and t...

Test of homogeneity of covariances (or homoscedasticity) among several groups has many applications in statistical analysis. In the context of incomplete data analysis, tests of homoscedasticity among groups of cases with identical missing data patterns have been proposed to test whether data are missing completely at random (MCAR). These tests of MCAR require large sample sizes n and/or large ...

We derive an estimator of the asymptotic variance of both single and multiple imputation estimators. We assume a parametric imputation model but allow for non-and semipara-metric analysis models. Our variance estimator, in contrast to the estimator proposed by Rubin (1987), is consistent even when the imputation and analysis models are misspecified and incompatible with one another.
