The dock problem (cf. [2], [4, 5]), which is that of understanding the scattering of surface water waves by a thin semi-infinite rigid plate floating on the free surface of water of infinite depth, gives rise to the following mixed boundary value problem, involving Laplace’s equation in two dimensions, with (x, y) representing the rectangular Cartesian coordinates, assuming linearised theory of...

This paper presents on antenna design for UHF RFID tag, application in vehicle license plate number (e-plate). Since every vehicle attached with vehicle registration plate number then used available plate number structure to design an antenna according these shape and size, the propose plate antenna embedded with a RFID chip to become e-plate. Proposed antenna designed and fabricated used a low...

A series of isostructural, noncatenated, zinc-pillared-paddlewheel metal-organic framework materials has been synthesized from 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(carboxyphenyl)benzene and trans-1,2-dipyridylethene struts. Substantial kinetic selectivity in the adsorption of propene over propane can be observed, depending on the pore apertures and the rectangular-plate morphology of the crystals.

Three-dimensional deformations of a multilayered, linear elastic, anisotropic rectangular plate subjected to arbitrary boundary conditions at its edges are analyzed by the generalized Eshelby-Stroh formalism. The rectangular laminate consists of anisotropic and homogeneous laminae of arbitrary thicknesses. Perfect bonding is assumed between the adjoining laminae in the sense that both surface t...

Well-preserved siliceous plates representing multiple species of euglyphids are described from a Middle Eocene maar lake deposit located near the Arctic Circle in northern Canada. Siliceous plate morphotypes including scutiform, rectangular, hexagonal, oval and circular body forms, six apertural plate types containing from five to thirteen teeth and spine plates, are documented. Many plate type...

A new layered 4-node, 24-degrees of freedom rectangular composite plate element is developed in this paper for nonlinear finite element analyses of FRP-strengthened RC slabs. The layered approach is used to form an integrated plate element for modelling of concrete, FRP, adhesive layer and steel reinforcement with a perfect bond assumption between each layer. Timoshenko’s composite beam functio...

In this short paper, a simple flexible difference scheme for the simulation of rectangular plate vibration is presented, along with various implementation details (scheme coefficients, a discussion of boundary condition implementation, explicit stability bounds, and memory and computational requirements), and a discussion of features such as moving excitation and readout locations. Sound exampl...

In the present paper, the buckling problem of rectangular functionally graded (FG) plate with arbitrary edge supports is investigated. The present analysis is based on the classical plate theory (CPT) and large deformation is assumed for deriving stability equations. The plate is subjected to bi-axial compression loading. Mechanical properties of FG plate are assumed to vary continuously along ...

An experimental investigation is conducted to determine the effect of repeated-plate blockages of variable streamwise spacing on heat transfer characteristics of turbulent flow in rectangular ducts. The plates are attached to the upper and lower walls in a staggered arrangement. The experiments are carried out by mass transfer and the analogy between heat and mass transfer provides the necessar...

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamical behavior of an isotropic rectangular plate, simply supported on all edges under influence of a moving mass and as well as an equivalent concentrated force is studied. The governing nonlinear coupled PDEs of motion are derived by energy method using Hamilton’s principle based on the large deflection theory in conjuncture with the von-Karman strain-displacem...
