A novel hydrogel film with a highly ordered macropore monolayer on its surface was prepared by templated photo-polymerization of hydrogel monomers on a two-dimensional (2D) polystyrene colloidal array. The 2D inverse opal hydrogel has prominent advantages over traditional three-dimensional (3D) inverse opal hydrogels. First, the formation of the 2D array template through a self-assembly method ...
OBJECTIVE To explore the performance of three-dimensional (3D) isotropic T2-weighted turbo spin-echo (TSE) sampling perfection with application optimized contrasts using different flip angle evolution (SPACE) sequence on a 3T system, for the evaluation of nerve root compromise by disc herniation or stenosis from central to extraforaminal location of the lumbar spine, when used alone or in combi...
Anisotropic charge transport is observed in a two-dimensional (2D) hole system in a perpendicular magnetic field at filling factors nu=7/2, nu=11/2, and nu=13/2 at low temperature. In stark contrast, the transport at nu=9/2 is isotropic for all temperatures. Isotropic hole transport at nu=7/2 is restored for sufficiently low 2D densities or an asymmetric confining potential. The density and sym...
Given a list of d-dimensional cuboid items with associated profits, the orthogonal knapsack problem asks for a packing of a selection with maximal profit into the unit cube. We restrict the items to hypercube shapes and derive a ( 5 4 + )-approximation for the twodimensional case. In a second step we generalize our result to a ( 2 +1 2d + )approximation for d-dimensional packing.
For quisi-two-dimensional HTS in superconducting state the dimensional crossover, 3D → 2D is studied. With using general properties of superconducting state for 2D systems the universal temperature dependence of the relation of the penetration lengths of magnetic field along axis ĉ, λ2(0)/λ2(T/Tc), is found out. This dependence evidences about two-dimensional character of superconducting transi...
Magnetotelluric (MT) is a natural electromagnetic (EM) technique which is used for geothermal, petroleum, geotechnical, groundwater and mineral exploration. MT is also routinely used for mapping of deep subsurface structures. In this method, the measured regional complex impedance tensor (Z) is substantially distorted by any topographical feature or small-scale near-surface, three-dimensional (...
Since its emergence, compressive sensing (CS) has attracted many researchers’ attention. In the CS, recovery algorithms play an important role. Basis pursuit (BP) and matching pursuit (MP) are two major classes of CS recovery algorithms. However, both BP and MP are originally designed for one-dimensional (1D) sparse signal recovery, while many practical signals are two-dimensional (2D), e.g. im...
in this research, structural and electronic properties of zncdn-1ten clusters (n=1-10) have been studied by formalism of density functional theory and using the projector augmented wave within local density approximation. the structural properties (such as bond length/angle and coordination number), electronic and optical properties (such as binding energy, kohn-sham spectrum and partial charge...
(Table 2). LV diastolic function estimated by transmitral E/A ratio was significantly impaired in diabetic patients compared with controls (Table 2). associated with all components of 3D LV strain. Our model of stepwise multivariate regression was different, and revealed that 2D LV and LA longitudinal strain, as well as 3D LV area strain, were Twoand 3D LV longitudinal mechanical function was i...
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate the perceptual (2-dimensional [2D] vs. 3-dimensional [3D] view) and instrumental (classical vs. robotic) impacts of new robotic system on learning curves. METHODS Forty medical students without any surgical experience were randomized into 4 groups (classical laparoscopy with 3D-direct view or with 2D-indirect view, robotic system in 3D or i...
