The purpose of this article is to introduce a new scheme for robust multivariate ranking by making use of a not so familiar notion called monotonicity. Under this scheme, as in the case of classical outward ranking, we get an increasing sequence of regions diverging away from a central region (may be a single point) as nucleus. The nuclear region may be deened as the median region.

In this paper, by introducing two virtual decision-making units (DMUs) called ideal DMU (IDMU) and anti-ideal DMU (ADMU) with fuzzy inputs-outputs, the efficiency evaluation of DMUs are done by fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FDEA). Therefore, we evaluate DMUs from the perspective of the best and worst possible relative efficiency. For each DMU two efficiencies are calculated while inputs and ...

An original data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is to evaluate each decision-making unit (DMU) with a set of most favorable weights of performance indices to finding worst-practice DMUs. Indeed classical DEA models evaluate each DMUs compared to the most effective DMU. Since in this way the relative efficiency is calculated, therefore at least one of the DMUs are located on the efficiency fro...

E-commerce will strongly penetrate the market if coupled with appropriate technologies and mechanisms. Mobile agents may enhance the intelligence and improve the efficiency of systems in the e-marketplace. We propose a dynamic multilateral negotiation model and construct an efficient negotiation strategy based on a ranking mechanism that does not require a complicated rationale on behalf of the...

A novel correlation based memetic framework (MA-C) which is a combination of genetic algorithm (GA) and local search (LS) using correlation based filter ranking is proposed in this paper. The local filter method used here fine-tunes the population of GA solutions by adding or deleting features based on Symmetrical Uncertainty (SU) measure. The focus here is on filter methods that are able to as...

Cross-efficiency evaluation is an effective approach to ranking decision making units (DMUs) that utilize multiple inputs to produce multiple outputs. Its models can usually be developed in a way that is either aggressive or benevolent to other DMUs, depending upon the decision maker (DM)’s subjective preference to the two extreme cases. This paper proposes several new data envelopment analysis...

I examine bid behavior in uniform-price auctions and multi-unit Vickrey auctions, without the standard quasilinearity restriction on bidder preferences. Instead of assuming quasilinearity, I assume that bidders have weakly positive wealth effects, i.e. the goods are normal goods. My setting nests quasilinearity, but also allows for budget constraints, financial constraints, and risk aversion. I...

Abstract We examined the effect of using input and output quantities as compared with costs revenues when estimating farm-level efficiency scores ranking. used data from 2015 Ethiopia Rural Socioeconomic Survey (ERSS) where production inputs outputs in well monetary units could be distinguished. Average technical 72.2% 68.6%, respectively, were found for analysis based on revenues. Efficiency r...

Skyline queries have emerged as an expressive and informative tool, with minimal user input and thus, they have gained widespread attention. However, previous research works tackle the problem from an efficiency standpoint, i.e., returning the skyline as fast as possible, leaving it to the user to manually inspect the entire skyline result. Clearly, this is impractical, even with a few dozen po...

This correspondence presents a novel hybrid wrapper and filter feature selection algorithm for a classification problem using a memetic framework. It incorporates a filter ranking method in the traditional genetic algorithm to improve classification performance and accelerate the search in identifying the core feature subsets. Particularly, the method adds or deletes a feature from a candidate ...
