本研究の目的は，日本の看護師が通常用いている「不穏」という用語に関する概念分析を行い，その定義を明らかにすることである．概念分析の方法は，Schwartz-Barcott & Kim法を参考にした．分析の結果，看護師は，患者が過活動状態にあり，その行動が理解できなかった場合および，患者に看護師の意図が伝わっていないと感じた時に患者が「不穏」状態にあると判断していることが明らかとなった．また，そこでは，患者に指示がうまく伝わらないことにより，「危険をはらんでいる」のではないかという看護師の不安が，過剰な鎮静薬の使用や不必要な身体抑制につながっている現状も伺えた．さらに，いわゆる「不穏」に相当する英単語は1つではなく，それぞれが意味する状態が，日本語では「不穏」と広く表現されていることがわかった．特に「不穏」の最も一般的な日本語訳とされる「agitation」は，我が国の看護師が使用する...
