This paper explores a philosophy and connectionist algorithm for creating a long-term, self-motivated developmental robot control system. Self-motivation is viewed as an emergent property arising from two competing pressures: the need to accurately predict the environment while simultaneously wanting to seek out novelty in the environment. These competing internal pressures are designed to driv...

elasticity in an indicator of price sensitivity and its psychological basis has largely been neglected. some scholars in consumer psychology show that advertising decreases price elasticity, while others found a positive relationship between advertising and price elasticity. We consider a competing spatial growth dynamics permitting that more than one cluster develop in the same environment given by a first-passage percolation model on a Delaunay triangulation of the plane. We focus on the long time behavior of these competing clusters and derive some limit theorems related to the morphology of this multi-type growth process.
