Let k ≥ 0 and n ≥ 2 be integers. A SOMA, or more specifically a SOMA(k, n), is an n×n array A, whose entries are k-subsets of a kn-set Ω, such that each element of Ω occurs exactly once in each row and exactly once in each column of A, and no 2-subset of Ω is contained in more than one entry of A. A SOMA(k, n) can be constructed by superposing k mutually orthogonal Latin squares of order n with...

chapters 1 and 2 establish the basic theory of amenability of topological groups and amenability of banach algebras. also we prove that. if g is a topological group, then r (wluc (g)) (resp. r (luc (g))) if and only if there exists a mean m on wluc (g) (resp. luc (g)) such that for every wluc (g) (resp. every luc (g)) and every element d of a dense subset d od g, m (r)m (f) holds. chapter 3 inv...

rested on sociocultural theory (sct), this study attempted to examine the effect of written corrective feedback (wcf) followed by producing written languaging on developing writing accuracy over new tasks. to this aim, two intact iranian efl classes at the low-intermediate level were randomly assigned to two experimental groups: direct (n = 25) and indirect (n = 25). both groups wrote on a numb...

In this paper, two methods are described, by means of which it is possible to calculate the non rigid group of molecules consisting of a number of XH3 groups attached to a rigid framework. The first method is a combination of the wreath product formalism of Balasubramanian and modern computer algebra and the second method is a computational approach by using group theory package GAP. We apply t...

we introduce a two generated weakly branch contracting automaton group $g$ which is generated by a two state automaton on a three letter alphabet. using its branch structure and the finiteness nature of a sequence of its factor groups we compute the order of some of these factors. furthermore some algebraic properties of $g$ are detected .

electrode potential of 2-(2,3-dihydroxy phenyl)-1,3-dithiane (dpd) was investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry (cv) at various potential scan rates. the calculated value was compared with the experimental value obtained by cyclic voltammetry (cv). all experiments were done in aqueous phosphate buffer solutions at different phs. the experimental redox potential of dpd was obtained to be 0.75...

There is much interest in finding short presentations for the finite simple groups. In a previous paper we produced nice efficient presentations for all small simple groups and for their covering groups. Here we extend those results from simple group order less than 100,000 up to order one million, but we leave one simple group and one covering group for which the efficiency question remains un...

This paper is part of an ongoing research program to understand the cognitive and functional bases for the origins and evolution of spatial language. Following a cognitive-functional approach, we first investigate the cross-linguistic variety in spatial language, with special attention for spatial perspective. Based on this language-typological data, we hypothesize which cognitive mechanisms ar...

Decision making under stressful circumstances, e.g., during evacuation, often involves strong emotions and emotional contagion from others. In this paper the role of emotions in social decision making in large technically assisted crowds is investigated. For this a formal, computational model is proposed, which integrates existing neurological and cognitive theories of affective decision making...
