The conjecture on the (degree − codimension+ 1)regularity of projective varieties is proved for smooth linearly normal polarized varieties (X, L) with L very ample, for low values of ∆(X, L) = degree− codimension− 1. Results concerning the projective normality of some classes of special varieties including scrolls over curves of genus 2 and quadric fibrations over elliptic curves, are proved.
OBJECTIVES In colorectal cancer, to describe the cytophotometric expression of the CD-34 and Factor VIII; to evaluate the degree of correlation between them; and to compare the CD-34 and Factor VIII expressions in relationship to label index and optical density. METHODS Seventeen cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma recovered from paraffin-embedded archival tissue and confirmed by hematoxilin-e...
If $G$ is a connected graph with vertex set $V$, then the eccentric connectivity index of $G$, $xi^c(G)$, is defined as $sum_{vin V(G)}deg(v)ecc(v)$ where $deg(v)$ is the degree of a vertex $v$ and $ecc(v)$ is its eccentricity. In this paper we show some convergence in probability and an asymptotic normality based on this index in random bucket recursive trees.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of estimation techniques and sample sizes on model fit indices in structural equation models constructed according to the number of exogenous latent variables under multivariate normality. The performances of fit indices are compared by considering effects of related factors. The Ratio Chi-square Test Statistic to Degree of Freedom, Root Me...
We exploit a result by Nerman [23] which shows that conditional limit theorems hold when a certain monotonicity condition is satisfied. Our main result is an application to vertex degrees in random graphs where we obtain asymptotic normality for the number of vertices with a given degree in the random graph G(n, m) with a fixed number of edges from the corresponding result for the random graph ...
Smith for helpful comments and to Richard Blundell for kindly making his data available. In 1imi ted dependent variable models the estimators obtained by maximising the normal likelihood function are generally inconsistent when the assumption of normality ls falseo Arabmazar and Schmidt (1982) have shown that the bias trom non-normality can be substantial when the degree of censoring (or trunca...
