An obvious problem in this area is payload inspection of encrypted traffic: since the network-based intrusion detection system (NIDS) commonly has no access to the encryption keys, it can not decrypt the captured data and, therefore, no analysis is possible. From a network perspective it is thus hard to deal with encrypted traffic. However, more and more traffic within networks uses some form o...

Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) is a systemic vasculitis of small- to medium-sized arteries, associated with necrotizing granulomata classically involving the upper and lower respiratory tracts and kidneys. It is usually associated with the presence of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA). ANCA-negative WG is usually a limited form of the disease that tends to affect organs other than th...

Remark. If G is a compact Lie group with maximal torus TG and Weyl Group WG, the finitely generated free Z-module LG = π1TG has a natural action of WG and is called the dual weight lattice of G. The group G is simple in the usual sense if and only if the center of G is trivial and the action of WG on Q ⊗ LG gives an irreducible representation of WG over Q. From this point of view 1.3 is a direc...

Given a simplicial group G, there are two known classifying simplicial set constructions, the Kan classifying simplicial set WG and Diag NG, where N denotes the dimensionwise nerve. They are known to be weakly homotopy equivalent. We will show that WG is a strong simplicial deformation retract of Diag NG. In particular, WG and Diag NG are simplicially homotopy equivalent.

This study examines the mineralogy, texture, and weathering grades of intrusive igneous rocks from northern Pakistan, as well their impacts on physical strength properties. In comparison to felsic rocks, mafic intermediate have lower cumulative proportions quartz, feldspar, plagioclase, higher specific gravity, (i.e., UCS R-value), UPV values. Similarly, samples with anhedral grain shapes, irre...

O’Keefe and Nadel distinguish two paradigms for navigation, the “locale system” for map-based navigation and the “taxon (behavioral orientation) system” for route navigation. This paper models the taxon system, the map-based system, and their interaction; and argues that the map-based system involves the interaction of hippocampus with other systems. We relate taxes to the notion of an affordan...

Thermal unfolding of 5S rRNA from wheat germ (WG) and lupin seeds (LS) was studied in solution. Experimental curves of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were resolved into particular components according to the thermodynamic model of two-state transitions. The DSC temperature profiles for WG and LS differ significantly in spite of very high similarities in the sequence of both molecules. ...

We are investigating how Drosophila imaginal disc cells establish and maintain their appendage-specific determined states. We have previously shown that ectopic expression of wingless (wg) induces leg disc cells to activate expression of the wing marker Vestigial (Vg) and transdetermine to wing cells. Here we show that ectopic wg expression non-cell-autonomously induces Vg expression in leg dis...

The Hedgehog (Hh) and Wingless (Wg) signaling pathways play important roles in animal development. The activities of the two pathways depend on each other during Drosophila embryogenesis. In the embryonic segment, Wg is required in anterior cells to sustain Hh secretion in adjacent posterior cells. Hh input in turn is necessary for anterior cells to maintain wg expression. The Hh and Wg pathway...
