Introduction: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), is a bacterium responsible for upper gastrointestinal tract diseases. The 16s rRNA is a common H. pylori gene which are usually preferred for diagnosis purpose. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and abundance of 16s rRNA in fecal samples and also evaluate correlation between the level of 16s rRNA and activities of the cytokine...

The present study deals with isolation, identification and analysis of bacteria from tannery effluent through 16S rRNA based molecular technique. Bacterial strain was isolated and characterized using various biochemical tests and confirmed through molecular approach. Bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified using suitable primers. The amplified 16S rRNA gene sequence was compared with the sequence...

16S rRNA gene sequences have been widely used for the identification of prokaryotes. However, the flood of sequences of non-type strains and the lack of a peer-reviewed database for 16S rRNA gene sequences of type strains have made routine identification of isolates difficult and labour-intensive. In the present study, we generated a database containing 16S rRNA gene sequences of all prokaryoti...

detection of mycoplasma synoviae (ms) by culture and polymerase chain reaction (pcr) has been reported from commercial chicken farms in different provinces of iran. in some reports the phylogenetic analysis of ms isolates based on 16s rrna and variable lipoprotein hemagglutinin (vlha) genes have been carried out. the pcr product containing partial 16s rrna genes of iranain isolates was sequence...

Molecular investigation of two Nocardia patient isolates showed unusual restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns with restriction endonuclease assays (REA) using an amplified portion of the 16S rRNA gene. Patterns typical of Nocardia nova were obtained with REA of an amplified portion of the 65-kDa heat shock protein gene. Subsequent sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA gene regions of th...

The lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are an industrially important group of probiotic organisms that play an important role in human health by inhibiting harmful and pathogen bacteria growth, boosting immune function, and increasing resistance to infection.  This study aimed to isolate, identify, and biologically characterize probiotic LAB strains from Iranian traditional dairy products. A ...

Hyphomonas neptunium is a marine prosthecate alpha-proteobacterium currently classified as a member of the order 'Rhodobacterales'. Although this classification is supported by 16S rRNA gene sequence phylogeny, 23S rRNA gene sequence analysis, concatenated ribosomal proteins, HSP70 and EF-Tu phylogenies all support classifying Hyphomonas neptunium as a member of the Caulobacterales instead. The...

The 100 bp sequence from the beginning of the 16S rRNA gene of archaebacterium Halobacterium halobium and the adjacent 800 bp upstream sequence were determined. Four long (80 bp) direct repeats were found in the region preceeding the structural gene of the 16S rRNA. These repeats are proposed to constitute the promoter region of the rRNA operon of H. halobium.

uricase or urate oxidase (urate:oxygen oxidoreductase, ec 1.7.3.3), a peroxisomal enzyme which is found in many bacteria, catalyzes the oxidative opening of the purine ring of urate to yield allantoin, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen peroxide. in this study, the phylogeny of urate oxidase (uricase) producing bacteria was studied based on gene sequences of 16s rrna and uricase protein. representati...

Background: Identification of the dominant lactic acid bacteria involved in the production of traditional cheese in Semnan could be the initiative to protect national genetic resources and produce industrial cheese with desirable texture and organoleptic characteristics similar to traditional cheeses. The present study aimed to determine the biochemical, physiological, and phenotypic properties...
