In the paper we present a concept of making backups in the cloud. We discuss the current practice of making backup copies of data enabling backups to be stored in a separate location and analyze the possibility of making backups in the cloud. We mainly focus on the economic and performance aspects of using cloud computing for making backup copies of data.
