Background : Fatty liver disease can result in liver damage along with viral hepatitis, and accelerated disease progression can result in liver tissue fibrosis and liver damage. Aerobic training can reduce the level of liver enzymes (Alp, ALT, and AST) in order for possible treatment of fatty liver disease with aerobic exercise. The present study was performed to assess the effects of Aerobic t...

this study aimed to investigate effects of malathion on dna breakage in the liver and gill of rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss) in the laboratory condition. the experiment was performed with four concentrations of malathion, i.e. 0 (control), 0.025, 0.05 and 0.075 mg l‑1 and three replicate for nine days. the liver and gill were sampled on the first, fifth and ninth days after the start of th...

EUGENE J KUCHARZ,

A three-fold decrease of the in vitro ability of serum proteins to bind naproxen was shown in patients with cirrhosis of the liver compared to healthy individuals. This decrease was caused by quantitative changes in serum proteins in the sera of patients with liver damage. Lower doses of naproxen are therefore suggested in the treatment of patients with liver dysfunction.

Background and purpose: Cytokines regulate a broad range of biological and pathological processes. They play an important role in liver damage. Inflammatory and antioxidant factors are important causes of liver damage. Shilajit is known as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent. Therefore, the main aim of this study was to determine the effect of Shilajit on levels of proinflammat...

background: stearic acid is known as a potent anti-inflammatory lipid. this fatty acid has profound and diverse effects on liver metabolism. the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of stearic acid on markers of hepatocyte transplantation in rats with acetaminophen (apap)-induced liver damage. methods: wistar rats were randomly assigned to 10-day treatment. stearic acid was administe...

In this study, the hepatoprotective effect of the methanol extract of aerial parts (shoot) from Otostegia persica Boiss (Golder) was investigated against the carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute hepatotoxicity in male rats. Liver damage was induced through the oral administration of 50% CCl4 in liquid paraffin (2.5 mL/Kg bw, per os) 60 min after the administration of the methanol extract o...

The present study appraised the hepatoprotective activity of aqueous extract of Camellia sinensis leaves and its possible mechanism of action against carbon-tetrachloride-induced liver damage. Liver damage was induced by   intraperitoneal administration of equal mixture of carbon tetrachloride   and olive oil (50 % v/v, 0.5 ml/kg ) in male Wistar rats (150-220g) once daily for...
