This paper presents a novel algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to estimate the states of electric distribution networks. In order to improve the performance, accuracy, convergence speed, and eliminate the stagnation effect of original PSO, a secondary PSO loop and mutation algorithm as well as stretching function is proposed. For accounting uncertainties of loads in distributi...

Based on Rent’s Rule, a well-established empirical relationship, a rigorous derivation of a complete wire-length distribution for on-chip random logic networks is performed. This distribution is compared to actual wire-length distributions for modern microprocessors, and a methodology to calculate the wire-length distribution for future gigascale integration (GSI) products is proposed.

Smart grids (SGs), as an emerging grid modernization concept, is spreading across diverse research areas for revolutionizing power systems. SGs realize new key concepts with intelligent technologies, maximizing achieved objectives and addressing critical issues that are limited in conventional grids. The SG modernization is more noticeable at the distribution grid level. Thus, the transformatio...

The progression towards smart grids, integrating renewable energy resources, has increased the integration of distributed generators (DGs) into power distribution networks. However, several economic and technical challenges can result from the unsuitable incorporation of DGs in existing distribution networks. Therefore, optimal placement and sizing of DGs are of paramount importance to improve ...

Electronic publishing exploits numerous possibilities to present or exchange information and to communicate via most current media like the Internet. By utilizing modern Web technologies like Web Services, loosely coupled services, and peer-to-peer networks we describe the integration of an intelligent business news presentation and distribution network. Employing semantics technologies enables...

since the modern art is chosen to discuss, it means a wide expansion of art courses are affected by modernism that enter to the new realms. because of expanded subject, lack of sources and also the close relationship between painting and animation, this thesis emphasizes on the painting and it is recommended to use the phrase “modern painting” instead of modern art (which is more general). thi...

In the event of a severe incident with a high impact and low probability of occurrence, distribution networks may be separated from upstream networks and several feeders may be disconnected simultaneously within the distribution networks. In such circumstances, to maximize the resilience of the distribution networks and to prevent long-term global outages, they are reconfigured and islanded to ...

large water distribution systems can be highly vulnerable to penetration of contaminant factors caused by different means including deliberate contamination injections. as contaminants quickly spread into a water distribution network, rapid characterization of the pollution source has a high measure of importance for early warning assessment and disaster management. in this paper, a methodology...

key distribution is an important problem in wireless sensor networks where sensor nodesare randomly scattered in adversarial environments.due to the random deployment of sensors, a list of keys must be pre-distributed to each sensor node before deployment. to establish a secure communication, two nodes must share common key from their key-rings. otherwise, they can find a key- path in which ens...
