Apraxia caused by left hemispheric stroke typically impairs skilled sequential movements. After stroke, apraxic patients need to reacquire motor skills by motor learning. The current study assessed for the first time incidental motor sequence learning in apraxic patients. Forty-eight human subjects (henceforth called "patients") with left hemispheric stroke affecting the middle cerebral artery ...

Background and purpose: Rapid sequence induction is a method of choice for cesarian section. Ïn this method 1-1.5 mg/kg succinylcholine is advised to produce relaxation for tracheal intubation. Ïn this study, we used succinylcholine in dosage of 1.5-2 and 2.5 mg/kg and the motor response during intubation was observed. Materials and methods : This sequentional study involved 100 patients r...

extension of inter-turn fault in windings of pmsm can damage all parts of electrical systems, and in some cases in sensitive applications may lead to irreparable events. identification of such small faults at incipient steps can be so helpful to protect entire part of electrical system. in this paper, intelligent protection system is designed which is made by two major parts. in the first part ...

Introduction: Motor skills and learning after stroke are of a great importance. This study aimed at studying implicit learning in unilateral stroke patients using affected hand and comparison with normal subjects. Methods: A serial reaction time task by using a software was applied for studying implicit motor learning in 15 stroke patients and 15 matched normal subjects. In this task 4 squar...

A visuo-motor sequence can be learned as a series of visuo-spatial cues or as a sequence of effector movements. Earlier imaging studies have revealed that a network of brain areas is activated in the course of motor sequence learning. However, these studies do not address the question of the type of representation being established at various stages of visuo-motor sequence learning. In an earli...

Sequence planning is an integral part of motor sequence control. Here, we demonstrate that the competitive state sequential movements during can be read out behaviorally through movement probes. We show position-dependent differences in availability reflect preparedness and skill but not timing planned sequence. Behavioral access to preparatory may serve as a marker capacity.

The "synaptic homeostasis hypothesis" proposes that the brain's capacity to exhibit synaptic plasticity is reduced during the day but restores when sleeping. While this prediction has been confirmed for declarative memories, it is currently unknown whether it is also the case for motor memories. We quantified practice-induced changes in corticomotor excitability in response to repetitive motor ...

Model-based predictive control (MPC) is one of the most efficient techniques that is widely used in industrial applications. In such controllers, increasing the prediction horizon results in better selection of the optimal control signal sequence. On the other hand, increasing the prediction horizon increase the computational time of the optimization process which make it impossible to be imple...
