dendrimer synthesis strategies now provide virtual control of macromolecular nanostructures as a function of size and surface/interior functionality. these strategies involve the covalent assembly of hierarchical components reactive monomers , branch cells or dendron’s around atomic or molecular cores according to divergent/convergent dendrite branching principles.combinon of two or more dendri...

In this paper, we describe the people attribute extraction system of the CASIANED team for the second Web People search evaluation (WePS-2). We develop an attribute extraction system based on information extraction. Firstly the attribute candidates for every attribute class are extracted using several different information extraction techniques; then these candidates are verified through classi...

Given the large collections of unstructured and semi-structured data available on the web, there is a crucial need to enable quick and efficient access to the knowledge content within them. Traditionally, the field of information extraction has focused on extracting such knowledge from unstructured text documents, such as job postings, scientific papers, news articles, and emails. However, the ...

Web search engines can greatly benefit from knowledge about attributes of entities present in search queries. In this paper, we introduce lightly-supervised methods for extracting entity attributes from natural language text. Using these methods, we are able to extract large numbers of attributes of different entities at fairly high precision from a large natural language corpus. We compare our...

We report on the large-scale acquisition of class attributes with and without the use of lists of representative instances, as well as the discovery of unary attributes, such as typically expressed in English through prenominal adjectival modification. Our method employs a system based on compositional language processing, as applied to the British National Corpus. Experimental results suggest ...

In this article we present a semi-supervised active learning algorithm for pattern discovery in information extraction from textual data. The patterns are reduced regular expressions composed of various characteristics of features useful in information extraction. Our major contribution is a semi-supervised learning algorithm that extracts information from a set of examples labeled as relevant ...

In this paper, we describe the Web People Search 2 attribute extraction task (WePS2-AE). It was conducted in SeptemberDecember 2008 along with the WePS2 clustering task. Six groups participated in the AE task. We will describe the motivation, task definition, evaluation set up, participating systems, and evaluation results. We will discuss the problems and future directions.
