Eugenia pachakumachiana Arum. & Murugan, a species from Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, southern Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu, India, and new to science is described illustrated. The compared with its closely allied rottleriana Wight Arn. incorporated into key Indian species.

The chemical constituents of an acetone extract of the stems of Micromelum minutum Wight et Arn (Rutaceae), collected at Nakorn-Rachasima province in Thailand, were studied. Six new coumarins, named micromarin-A (1), -B (2), -C (3), -F (4), -G (5), and -H (6), were isolated along with six known coumarins, and their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods.

In the present study, lectotypes for 12 names viz. Anaphalis beddomei Hook.f., bournei Fyson, elliptica DC., oblonga var. lawii meeboldii W.W.Sm., travancorica Gnaphalium marcescens Wight, neelgherryanum subdecurrens wightianum DC. and Helichrysum leptophyllum are designated. Detailed notes images of type specimens provided.

Lectotypes are designated for four species epithets, including one second-step lectotypification, under the family Gesneriaceae Rich. & Juss., viz., Cyananthus umbrosa Griff., Didymocarpus griffithii Wight, Lysionotus pubescens C.B.Clarke and Petrocosmea parryorum C.E.C.Fisch., along with detailed notes on their typification.

The half-life of a gap-junction polypeptide band migrating at 21,000 Mr on SDS polyacrylamide gels isolated from mouse liver is measured to be 5 h. Two low-molecular wight bands, probably related to the 21,000 Mr material by proteolysis, have measured half-lives of 4.6 and 5.2 h. Gap junctions are labeled in vivo using the 14C-bicarbonate labeling procedure, followed by quantitative fluorography.
