The comonotonic additivity axiom has been applied successfully in behavior under risk and uncertainty, and in an other-regarding setting it suggests that preferences over two allocations are independent of the payoffs of unaffected players as long as both allocations generate the same rank order of payoffs. If other-regarding preferences satisfy comonotonic additivity and violate standard addit...

Endocrine disruption from environmental contaminants has been linked to a broad spectrum of adverse outcomes. One concern about endocrine-disrupting xenobiotics is the potential for additive or synergistic (i.e., greater-than-additive) effects of mixtures. A short-term dosing model to examine the effects of environmental mixtures on thyroid homeostasis has been developed. Prototypic thyroid-dis...

We explore the implications of three basic and intuitive axioms for income redistribution problems: equal treatment equals , additivity stability . show that combination characterizes two focal polar rules: laissez-faire full • study problem from an axiomatic perspective. focus on axioms: equals, additivity, stability. Two rules are redistribution. They characterized by axioms. Compromises betw...

We study the relationship between the σ-ideal generated by closed measure zero sets and the ideals of null and meager sets. We show that the additivity of the ideal of closed measure zero sets is not bigger than covering for category. As a consequence we get that the additivity of the ideal of closed measure zero sets is equal to the additivity of the ideal of meager sets.

Information theory quantifies the optimal rates of resource interconversions, usually in terms of entropies. However, nonadditivity often makes evaluating entropic formulas intractable. In a few auspicious cases, additivity allows a full characterization of optimal rates. We study uniform additivity of formulas, which is easily evaluated and captures all known additive quantum formulas. Our com...

In this work the role that charge delocalization plays in non-linear optical response of ionic liquids is evaluated. The first hyperpolarizability for process second harmonic generation (SHG) and electro-optical Kerr-Effect (EOKE) a large number liquid forming ions were estimated by means density functional theory calculations. results point to both molecular geometry are key features govern th...

AbstractThis study aimed at examining the effect of pictorial presentation of vocabulary on EFL students’ retention relying on Dual Coding Theory and Additivity Hypothesis, both of which emphasize the additive effect of images on recall. To that end, 63 students who were in grade three of high school served as the participants of the study. They were randomly divided into three groups of still ...
