the aim of this study is to show that the measures derived from electrocardiogram (ecg) signals many a time perform better than the same measures obtained from heart rate (hr) signals. a comparison was made to investigate how far the nonlinear symbolic dynamics approach helps to characterize the nonlinear properties of ecg signals and hr signals, and thereby discriminate between normal and cong...

In recent years cardiac interbeat interval time series have been investigated by DFA and MF-DFA methods. In this paper instead of investigating cardiac interbeat interval time series, ECG signals are considered, it is shown that the normal and abnormal heart signals have different scaling relations.

in this paper, a smart method is designed in order to classify healthy and illness ducks using their emission voice. for this purpose, firstly, the birds based on their healthy condition are divided into the different categories and then their voices are saved using a microphone and data acquisition card. gained signals were transformed from time-domain signal to frequency domain using fast fou...

In this paper a repetitive control (RC) approach to improve current sharing between parallel-connected boost converters in DC microgrids is presented. The impact of changes in line impedance on current sharing is investigated. A repetitive controller is designed and connected in series with current controller of the boost converters to control the switching signals such that by regulating of th...

This paper presents an adaptive algorithm for the restoration of lost sample values in discrete-time signals that can locally be are that the positions of the unknown samples should be known and that they should be embedded in a sufficiently large neighborhood of known samples. The estimates of the unknown samples are obtained by minimizing the sum of squares of the residual errors that involve...

In contrast to single frequency conventional eddy current technique (ECT), in pulse ECT the coil is excited by repetitive broadband pulse. The pulsed excitation contains wide spectrum of frequencies. Each frequency has different penetrability and hence using pulsed eddy current (PEC) technique, large areas of structure with multiple variations in thickness can be scanned without the need for pa...

This article applies the standard deviation of partial signal (SDPS) plots of electrochemical noise (EN) current signals originating from corrosion events on the symmetrical and asymmetrical electrodes made of uncoated and polypyrrole (PPy)-coated mild steel alloy in 4000 ppm NaCl+1000 ppm NaNO2 solution. Signal recording was performed after 30, 60, 90 min and 24 h from immersion...

If discrete-time (d.t.) signals and sequences are viewed as distinct, with d.t. signals simply trains of impulses in continuous time (c.t.) whose areas, systematically normalized, are the sample sequences realizing those signals in computational DSP, then basic c.t. signals and systems is easily followed by an introduction to multi-rate systems for processing d.t. signals. Classic d.t. signals ...

Electrical Arc Furnace (EAF) consumes time-varying power. This causes mechanical torque variations in nearby small scale synchronous generators (SSSGs) and reduces their life expectancy. In this paper, an appropriate EAF model is provided and is verified by field measurements. Moreover, an actual distribution system to which an SSSG is connected to supply industrial loads including an EAF is in...
