Various Relevance Feedback techniques exist in Information Retrieval such as Simulated Relevance Feedback and Pseudo Relevance Feedback. In a Simulated Relevance Feedback technique a new query is reformulated based on the documents selected by the user from the top-ranked documents whereas in a Pseudo Relevance Feedback, the query is reformulated based on the assumption that N top-ranked docume...
in this paper, some results of the chebyshev type integral inequality for the pseudo-integral are proven. the obtained results, are related to the measure of a level set of the maximum and the sum of two non-negative integrable functions. finally, we applied our results to the case of comonotone functions.
The TREC-2004 Genomics track evaluation experiments at Patolis Corporation are described with a focus on the document length issues in different retrieval models such as TF*IDF or probabilistic language modeling approaches. In the genomics ad hoc retrieval task, combination of pseudo-relevance feedback and reference database feedback is applied. For the triage sub-task, we trained a SVM classif...
For a FRW-spacetime coupled to an arbitrary real scalar field, we endow the solution space of the associated Wheeler-DeWitt equation with a Hilbert-space structure, construct the observables, and introduce the physical wave functions of the universe that admit a genuine probabilistic interpretation. We also discuss a proposal for the formulation of the dynamics. The approach to quantum cosmolog...
Bound states generated by the K coupled PT −symmetric square wells are studied in a series of models where the Hamiltonians are assumed R−pseudo-Hermitian and R2−symmetric. Specific rotation-like generalized parities R are considered such that RN = I at some integers N . We show that and how our assumptions make the models exactly solvable and quasi-Hermitian. This means that they possess the r...
This paper proposes, empirically motivates and describes a pseudo-deterministic model of Human Language Processing (HLP) implemented in the ACT-R cognitive architecture (Anderson, 2007). The model reflects the integration of a highly parallel, probabilistic activation and selection mechanism and non-monotonic context accommodation mechanism (with limited parallelism) with what is otherwise a se...
The idea of probabilistic metric space was introduced by Menger and he showed that probabilistic metric spaces are generalizations of metric spaces. Thus, in this paper, we prove some of the important features and theorems and conclusions that are found in metric spaces. At the beginning of this paper, the distance distribution functions are proposed. These functions are essential in defining p...
the notion of a probabilistic metric space corresponds to thesituations when we do not know exactly the distance. probabilistic metric space was introduced by karl menger. alsina, schweizer and sklar gave a general definition of probabilistic normed space based on the definition of menger [1]. in this note we study the pn spaces which are topological vector spaces and the open mapping an...
In this paper, the connection between Menger probabilistic norms and H"{o}hle probabilistic norms is discussed. In addition, the correspondence between probabilistic norms and Wu-Fang fuzzy (semi-) norms is established. It is shown that a probabilistic norm (with triangular norm $min$) can generate a Wu-Fang fuzzy semi-norm and conversely, a Wu-Fang fuzzy norm can generate a probabilistic norm.
The method of pseudo-static analysis has been widely used to perform seismic slope stability, in which a coefficient is represent the earthquake shaking effect. However, it important but difficult select magnitude coefficients, are inevitably subjected different levels uncertainties. This paper aimed study influences uncertainties on stability from perspective probabilistic sensitivity analysis...
