絵本の読み聞かせは，乳幼児の言語発達を後押しするとともに，就学後の文章読解力や算数の成績に寄与する可能性も指摘され，注目が集まっている．本稿では，絵本の読み聞かせを支援するためのツールとして考案した個別最適化した絵本や，個人の発達や興味に合わせて検索するAI 絵本検索システムなどについて解説するとともに，それらを用いて自治体と共同で取り組んでいる実践的試みについても紹介する．
