We characterize the finite simple groups $L_2(q)$ by the group orders and the largest element orders, where $q$ is a prime or $q=2^a$, with $2^a+1$ or $2^a-1$ a prime.
In this paper we show that if q is a power of a prime p , then the projective special linear group PSL(2, q) and the stabilizer of a point of the projective line have maximum sum element orders among all proper subgroups of projective general linear group PGL(2, q) for q odd and even respectively
PURPOSE The frequency of medication errors in an emergency department (ED) before and after an ED pharmacist was assigned to check medication orders was studied. METHODS A retrospective chart review was conducted for any patient admitted to the ED of a large rural hospital between November 6, 2005, and December 6, 2005 (control group), or between November 6, 2006, and December 6, 2006 (interv...
let $pi_e(g)$ be the set of element orders of a finite group $g$. let $nse(g)={m_nmid ninpi_e(g)}$, where $m_n$ be the number of elements of order $n$ in $g$. in this paper, we prove that if $nse(g)=nse(l_2(81))$, then $gcong l_2(81)$.

BACKGROUND Holding orders help transition admitted emergency department (ED) patients to hospital beds. OBJECTIVE To describe the effect of ED holding orders. METHODS We conducted a single-site retrospective study of ward admissions from the ED to the hospital internal medicine (HIM) service over 2 years. Patients were classified based on whether the ED did (group 1) or did not (group 2) wr...

Miyaji, Nakabayashi and Takano (MNT) gave families of group orders of ordinary elliptic curves with embedding degree suitable for pairing applications. In this paper we generalise their results by giving families corresponding to non-prime group orders. We also consider the case of ordinary abelian varieties of dimension 2. We give families of group orders with embedding degrees 5, 10 and 12.
this study investigated how group formation method, namely student-selected vs. teacher-assigned, influences the results of the community model of teaching creative writing; i.e., group dynamics and group outcome (the quality of performance). the study adopted an experimental comparison group and microgenetic research design to observe the change process over a relatively short period of time. ...
