We characterize the invertible substitutions over a two-letter alphabet which share a common periodic point (or fixed point). The argument is geometrical.

In this work we obtain some new results concerning the existence of solutions to an impulsive first-order, nonlinear ordinary differential equation with periodic boundary conditions. The ideas involve differential inequalities and Schaefer's fixed-point theorem.

In this paper, using the fixed point theory in cone metric spaces, we prove the existence of a unique solution to a first-order ordinary differential equation with periodic boundary conditions in Banach spaces admitting the existence of a lower solution.
