Ali Abkar, M. Eslamian,

In this paper we introduce the concept of generalized weakly contractiveness for a pair of multivalued mappings in a metric space. We then prove the existence of a common fixed point for such mappings in a complete metric space. Our result generalizes the corresponding results for single valued mappings proved by Zhang and Song [14], as well as those proved by D. Doric [4].

— Let M be a Riemannian 4-manifold. The associated twistor space is a bundle whose total space Z admits a natural metric. The aim of this article is to study properties of complex structures on Z which are compatible with the fibration and the metric. The results obtained enable us to translate some metric properties on M (scalar flat, scalar-flat Kähler...) in terms of complex properties of it...

In this brief note, we prove that every space is a sequence-covering image of a topological sum of convergent sequences. As the application of this result, sequence-covering images of locally compact metric spaces (or, locally separable metric spaces, metric spaces) and sequentially-quotient images of a locally compact metric spaces (or, locally separable metric spaces, metric spaces) are equiv...

Sometimes there might be another metric space (N, ρ(u, v)) in play, and we may introduce a subscript as in BN(w, s) to indicate in which metric space the ball is defined. Let us say that a metric space (M, d(x, y)) is a happy fractal if the following three conditions are satisfied. First, M is complete as a metric space. Second, there is a constant C1 > 0 so that for each pair of points x, y in...

We consider branes as “points” in an infinite dimensional brane space M with a prescribed metric. Branes move along the geodesics of M. For a particular choice of metric the equations of motion are equivalent to the well known equations of the Dirac-Nambu-Goto branes (including strings). Such theory describes “free fall” in M-space. In the next step the metric of M-space is given the dynamical ...

The notion of a probabilistic metric  space  corresponds to thesituations when we do not know exactly the  distance.  Probabilistic Metric space was  introduced by Karl Menger. Alsina, Schweizer and Sklar gave a general definition of  probabilistic normed space based on the definition of Menger [1]. In this note we study the PN spaces which are  topological vector spaces and the open mapping an...

In this paper, we propose a new definition of intuitionistic fuzzyquasi-metric and pseudo-metric spaces based on intuitionistic fuzzy points. Weprove some properties of intuitionistic fuzzy quasi- metric and pseudo-metricspaces, and show that every intuitionistic fuzzy pseudo-metric space is intuitionisticfuzzy regular and intuitionistic fuzzy completely normal and henceintuitionistic fuzzy nor...
