Moving particles that rest along their trajectory lead to time-fractional diffusion equations for the scaling limit distributions. For power law waiting times with infinite mean, the equation contains a fractional time derivative of order between 0 and 1. For finite mean waiting times, the most revealing approach is to employ two time scales, one for the mean and another for deviations from the...

The momentum equation in the kinematic wave model is a power-law equation with two parameters. These parameters, which relate the discharge to the flow area, are commonly derived using Manning’s equation. In general, the values of these parameters depend on the flow depth except for some special cross sections. In this paper, improved estimates of the kinematic wave parameters for circular chan...

applying the variational method, the spinless reduced bethe-salpeter (rbs) equation is solved for the mesonic systems, and the mass spectra are obtained. the method is applied to the hamiltonian with the gaussian and hydrogen-type trial wave functions, and different potential models are examined. the results for the different potentials are in challenge in light mesons, while they are consisten...

In this paper the buckling coefficient of FGM rectangular plates calculated by the new version of differential quadrature method (DQM). At the first the governing differential equation for plate has been calculated and then according to the new version of differential quadrature method (DQM) the existence derivatives in equation , convert to the amounts of function in the grid points inside of ...

Numerical simulations indicate that the smooth, photoionized intergalactic medium (IGM) responsible for the low column density Lyα forest follows a well defined temperature-density relation, which is well described by a power-law T = T0(ρ/ρ̄)γ−1. We demonstrate that such an equation of state results in a power-law cutoff in the distribution of line widths (b-parameters) as a function of column d...

This paper carries out the integration of the resonant nonlinear Schrödinger’s equation in presence of perturbation terms that are considered with full nonlinearity. The three types of nonlinear media are studied. They are the cubic nonlinearity, power law and log law nonlinearity. The semi-inverse variational principle is applied to extract the analytical soliton solution.

Turbulence is generally associated with universal power-law spectra in scale ranges without significant drive or damping. Although many examples of turbulent systems do not exhibit such an inertial range, power-law spectra may still be observed. As a simple model for such situations, a modified version of the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation is studied. By means of semianalytical and numerical stu...

This paper obtains the exact 1-soliton solution of the complex GinzburgLandau equation with power law nonlinearity that governs the propagation of solitons through nonlinear optical fibers. The technique that is used to carry out the integration of this equation is He’s semi-inverse variational principle.
