We have performed hydrodynamical simulations to investigate the effects of galactic winds on the high-redshift (z = 3) universe. Strong winds suppress the formation of low-mass galaxies significantly, and the metals carried by them produce C IV absorption lines with properties in reasonable agreement with observations. The winds have little effect on the statistics of the H I-absorption lines, ...

we commence by using from a new norm on l1(g) the -algebra of all integrable functions on locally compact group g, to make the c-algebra c(g). consequently, we find its dual b(g), which is a banach algebra so-called fourier-stieltjes algebra, in the set of all continuous functions on g. we consider most of important basic theorems about this algebra. this consideration leads to a rather com...

The main effect of axial rotation on the evolution of massive PopIII stars is to trigger internal mixing processes which allow stars to produce significant amounts of primary nitrogen 14 and carbon 13. Very metal poor massive stars produce much more primary nitrogen than PopIII stars for a given initial mass and rotation velocity. The very metal poor stars undergo strong mass loss induced by ro...

Here we report the combined spacecraft observations of Saturn acquired over one Saturnian year (~29.5 Earth years), from the Voyager encounters (1980-81) to the new Cassini reconnaissance (2009-10). The combined observations reveal a strong temporal increase of tropic temperature (~10 Kelvins) around the tropopause of Saturn (i.e., 50 mbar), which is stronger than the seasonal variability (~a f...

Abstract The climate in central Europe during the last 60 ka is characterized by rapid temperature and moisture changes strong cold periods (Heinrich events). All these variations are preserved sediments of marine also some terrestrial archives. Here we present a continuous, sediment record with almost all Greenland stadials Heinrich events between 13 visible from carbonate roundness Eifel Lami...

to explore the idea the investingation proposed, aimed at finding whether the performances of the population of iranians students studying english in an efl context are consistent in l1 and l2 writing taks and whether there is a cross-linguistic transfer in this respect. in this regard the subjects were instructed to write four compositions-two in english and two in farsi-which consisted of an ...

monumental changes occurring on a daily basis have altered the world into a global village of expanding technology and shrinking geography in which preparing language learners for intercultural communication seems to be a sine qua non for modern language education. employing a cross-sectional design in its first phase, this study investigated the intercultural sensitivity and language proficien...

-The autumn circulation on the innerand mid-shelf of the U.S. South Atlantic Bight (SAB) is examined numerically. Using data collected in 1987 during the Fall Experiment (FLEX) the alongshore structure of the currents and the coastal sea level fluctuations were found to be correlated to local winds which were strong and persistently northeasterly. The observed inshore distribution of freshwater...

Multiwavelength data on star-forming galaxies provide strong evidence for large-scale galactic winds in both nearby and distant objects. The results from recent ground-based and space-borne programs are reviewed. The impact of these winds on the host galaxies and the surrounding environment is discussed in the context of galaxy evolution.
