[email protected] Institut Supérieur d’Informatique et des Technologies de Communication de Hammam Sousse, Université de Sousse, Route GP1-4011, Hammam Sousse, Tunisie Full list of author information is available at the end of the article Abstract In this article, we prove a general common fixed point theorem for two pairs of weakly compatible self-mappings of a partia...
Let F ⊂ Sk be a nite set of permutations and let Cn(F) denote the number of permutations σ ∈ Sn avoiding the set of patterns F . The Noonan Zeilberger conjecture states that the sequence {Cn(F)} is P-recursive. We disprove this conjecture. The proof uses Computability Theory and builds on our earlier work [GP1]. We also give two applications of our approach to complexity of computing {Cn(F)}.
The glycoproteins expressed by a Zaire species of Ebola virus were analyzed for cleavage, oligomerization, and other structural properties to better define their functions. The 50- to 70-kDa secreted and 150-kDa virion/structural glycoproteins (SGP and GP, respectively), which share the 295 N-terminal residues, are cleaved near the N terminus by signalase. A second cleavage event, occurring in ...
Generation of infectious arenavirus-like particles requires the virus RING finger Z protein and surface glycoprotein precursor (GPC) and the correct processing of GPC into GP1, GP2, and a stable signal peptide (SSP). Z is the driving force of arenavirus budding, whereas the GP complex (GPc), consisting of hetero-oligomers of SSP, GP1, and GP2, forms the viral envelope spikes that mediate recept...
Prolyl 4-hydroxylases (P4Hs) catalyze formation of 4-hydroxyproline (4Hyp), which is found in many plant glycoproteins. We cloned and characterized Cr-P4H-1, one of 10 P4H-like Chlamydomonas reinhardtii polypeptides. Recombinant Cr-P4H-1 is a soluble 29-kD monomer that effectively hydroxylated in vitro both poly(l-Pro) and synthetic peptides representing Pro-rich motifs found in the Chlamydomon...
Viral pathogens cause devastating economic losses in poultry industries worldwide. The Caribbean region, which boasts some of the highest rates of poultry consumption in the world, is no exception. This review summarizes evidence for the circulation and spread of eight high-priority, economically important poultry viruses across the Caribbean region. Avian influenza virus (AIV), infectious bron...
Ebolavirus (EBOV), an enveloped filamentous RNA virus causing severe hemorrhagic fever, enters cells by macropinocytosis and membrane fusion in a late endosomal compartment. Fusion is mediated by the EBOV envelope glycoprotein GP, which consists of subunits GP1 and GP2. GP1 binds to cellular receptors, including Niemann-Pick C1 (NPC1) protein, and GP2 is responsible for low pH-induced membrane ...
