Acoustic wave devices have been in commercial use for more than 60 years. The telecommunications industry is the largest consumer, accounting for ~3 bil lion acoustic wave filters annually, primarily in mobile cell phones and base stations. These are typically surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices, and act as bandpass filters in both the radio frequency and intermediate frequency sections of the ...

we report the development of different types of oxygen sensors based on yittria-stabilized zirconia (ysz) as a solid electrolyte. the conventional oxygen sensor is a concentration cell with two porous pt electrodes, one of which is exposed to air as a constant (reference) oxygen concentration and the other is exposed to automobile exhaust gas of variable oxygen concentration, depending on the a...

accuracy of inertial navigation system (ins) is limited by inertial sensors imperfections. before using inertial sensors signals in the data fusion algorithm, noise removal method should be performed, in which, wavelet decomposition method is used. in this method the raw data is decomposed into high and low frequency data sets. in this study, wavelet multi-level resolution analysis (wmra) techn...

A flexible oxygen sensor based on individual ZnO nanowires is demonstrated with high sensitivity at room temperature and the influence of the piezotronic effect on the performance of this oxygen sensor is investigated. By applying a tensile strain, the already very high sensitivity due to the Schottky contact and pre-treatment of UV light is even further enhanced.

Received: 14 Apr, 2013 Accepted: 13 Jun, 2013Abstract  Background & Aims: One of the methods for abnormalities motion is the gait analysis using the analysis of plantar pressure distribution. This method is not only very costly but also it needs the adequate space to locate the equipment in some cases connection of the accessories to the patient leads to the limitation of the patient’s motions....

Several hybrid sensing materials, which are organized by interaction of organic molecules onto inorganic supports, have been developed as a novel and hopeful class of hybrid sensing probes. The hybrid silica-magnetic based sensors provide perfect properties for production of various devices in sensing technology. The hybridization of silica and magnetic NPs as biocompatible, biodegradable and s...

We describe a novel and flexible real-time kernel, called Yartek, with low overhead and low footprint suitable for embedded systems. The motivation of this development was due to the difficulty to find a free and stable real-time kernel suitable for our necessities. Yartek has been developed on a Coldfire microcontroller. The real-time periodic tasks are scheduled using nonpreemptive EDF, while...

This paper addresses active state estimation with a team of robotic sensors. The states to be estimated are represented by spatially distributed, uncorrelated, stationary vectors. Given a prior belief on the geographic locations of the states, we cluster the states in moderately sized groups and propose a new hierarchical Dynamic Programming (DP) framework to compute optimal sensing policies fo...

Networks of robotic sensors have the potential to safely collect data over large-scale, unknown environments. They can be especially useful in situations where the environment is unsafe for humans to explore. In many such situations, robots are also susceptible to hazards. It is important to design exploration and mapping algorithms that are hazard-aware, so that the robotic sensor network can ...
