Solid tumors produce both stimulators and inhibitors of angiogenesis. The suppression of metastases by some primary tumors has been attributed to the longer circulatory half-lives of the inhibitors. We propose that intrinsic differences in the physicochemical properties of these regulators may also explain focal suppression of angiogenesis within the primary tumor. We present a mathematical fra...

The observations reported in this paper demonstrate that the intravascular interaction of bacterial and animal protein antigens with homologous antibodies at the site of a tissue made vulnerable by bacterial filtrates induces prompt severe hemorrhagic necrosis in this tissue. In the light of these observations there is offered an explanation of the mechanism underlying focal and skin bacterial ...

Encapsulated thyroid tumors of follicular cell origin with high-grade features (EFHG) are unusual neoplasms. In current classification schemes, they are called atypical adenomas or follicular, papillary, or poorly differentiated carcinoma. When noninvasive, EFHG create a major therapeutic/diagnostic dilemma stemming from their rarity, low-stage, high-grade appearance, and lack of long-term foll...
