Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS) agent was purified by sucrose gradient centrifugation. The polypeptides of HPS agent were separated through sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and identified by known protein markers. Eight polypeptides having molecular weights ranging from 119.0 to 15.7 KDa were observed. The nucleic acid of HPS agent was extracted and determin...

In Synechocystis 6803 the psbA gene, encoding the Dl polypeptide of the Photosystem II reaction center, belongs to a multigene family with three copies (1). The nucleotide sequence of psbA-1 has been reported (2). We have cloned and seguenced a seconcl psbA gene, psbA-2. front Svnechocvstis 6803. The second copy of psbA i s contained within a 2.1 Kb genomic Hind III fragment. The psbA-2 open re...

With the binary vectors pBIG and pBIB it is possible to: i) exchange the plant selectable marker/promoter fusion and the reporter gene, ii) use one vector and Agrobacterium strain system, thus reducing variables associated with using different vectors and strains, iii) allow for divergent transcription of the selectable marker gene and of promoter/reporter gene fusions. The two plasmids are der...

The live weight of bulls at 9 months age groups II, III and IV (crossbreed 1) was 305.6, 304.1 307.6 kg, respectively, compared with peers group I 15.3 kg (5.0%), 13.8 (4.5%) 17.3 (5.6%) were higher (P≤0.001). Also, for a 9-month growth period, the average daily gain in II 1018.5 g, which amounted to 62.2 g or 6.1% (P≤0.001), 25.9 2.5% (P≤0.01) 24.4 2.4%. (P≤0.01). According external parameters...
