it was known that il-1β-induced rapid expression of mir-146a, which regulated the secretion of inflammatory chemokines in human a549 alveolar epithelial cells. however, little is known about the level of primary mir-146a and the downstream biogenesis of mir-146a in a549 cells. we examined the levels of primary mir-146a and mature mir-146a in a549 cells following treatment with pharmacological i...

Preoperative radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy has become a standard procedure for treatment of patients with locally advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). However, patients' responses to treatment are different and personalized. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are promising biomarkers for predicting personalized responses. In this study, we collected 30 publicly reported miRNAs associated with chemoradiotherap...

A  tuberculosis (TB) model with  lost sight  and multiple latent classes  is considered and studied. We derive the basic reproduction ratio $mathcal R_0$. There is always a globally asymptotically stable equilibrium state. Depending on the value of   $mathcal{R}_0$, this state can be either endemic ($mathcal{R}_0> 1$), or infection-free ($mathcal{R}_0leq 1$). The global asymptotic stability of ...

Circulating microRNAs have been recognized as promising biomarkers for the detection of lung cancer. The objective of this study was to evaluate miR-10b, miR-1 and, miR-30a in the plasma samples of lung cancer patients to confirm any possible relevance in the early detection of lung cancer. Plasma samples from 47 non-small-cell lung cancer patients and 41 cancer-free subjects were evaluated for...

The daily environmental exposure of humans to plasticizers may adversely affect human health, representing a global issue. altered expression microRNAs (miRNAs) plays an important pathogenic role in plasticizers. This systematic review summarizes recent findings showing the modified miRNAs cancer due Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodolo...

The indigenous small non-coding RNAs, known as microRNAs (miRNAs), are important regulators of gene expression and many of them are evolutionarily conserved. Whether stem-loop RT-PCR, as a sensitive method, could be utilized to clone conserved miRNAs from non-model insects lacks information. Here, three miRNAs, sli-miR-14, sli-miR-2a and sli-bantam, were cloned from Spodoptera litura by stem-lo...

PURPOSE Indeterminate thyroid lesions on fine needle aspiration (FNA) harbor malignancy in about 25% of cases. Hemi- or total thyroidectomy has, therefore, been routinely advocated for definitive diagnosis. In this study, we analyzed miRNA expression in indeterminate FNA samples and determined its prognostic effects on final pathologic diagnosis. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN A predictive model was der...

Dysregulated miRNAs play critical roles during carcinogenesis and cancer progression. In the present study, the function of miR-1228* in regulating cancer progression was investigated in gastric cancer. Decreased expression of miR-1228* was observed in human gastric cancer tissues comparing to normal tissues. Subsequently, the role of miR-1228* was evaluated in vivo using the tumor xenograft mo...

Abstract Background Endometrial cancer is an invasive gynecological prevalent in the world. The pathogenesis of endometrial related to multiple levels regulation, referring oestrogen, tumor-suppressor gene (e.g. PTEN ) or microRNAs miR-23a and miR-29b). Metapristone a hormone-related drug, which widely used clinical treatment cancer. However, underlying regulatory mechanism metapristone on stil...

Here, a predator-prey model with Hassell-Varley type functional responses is studied. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the permanence and global asymptotic stability of the system by using comparison theorem and constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional. Moreover, an example is illustrated to verify the results by simulation.
