For years, geotechnical engineers have been concerned about expansive soils. Expansive soils are characterized by large volumetric changes related to variations in moisture content. Variations soil water content may take place naturally during seasonal or maybe manmade caused dewatering activities. The quantity of shrinkage and swell is influenced numerous parameters, including the minerals cla...

Injection moulding is one of the most popular polymer processing methods due to its high production rate as well as its ability to produce very intricate geometries at very cheaper cost and within few seconds. There are several flaws which occur while producing plastic parts by Injection moulding, like warpage, shrinkage, flash, sink marks etc. Shrinkage is one of the most critical problems whi...

We present a method for constructing nonparametric confidence sets for density functions based on an approach due to Beran and Dümbgen (1998). We expand the density in an appropriate basis and we estimate the basis coefficients by using linear shrinkage methods. We then find the limiting distribution of an asymptotic pivot based on the quadratic loss function. Inverting this pivot yields a conf...

The cross section for elastic vector meson production in photon-proton interactions at large t is considered using the exact analytic solution of the BFKL equation in the azimuthally symmetric n = 0 limit. We use a non-relativistic model for the vector meson production and find a small shrinkage in the t-distribution with increasing energy.

Completely weathered phyllite (CWP) soil is a kind of special with high swell potential, while red clay shrinkage. This means that these two kinds soils are usually not suitable for direct use as subgrade fill. To reduce the index CWP and shrinkage at same time, it was proposed to blend improve their basic characteristics. A series tests dry-wet cycle blended have been carried out varying blend...

The effective shear and bulk viscosity, as well as dynamic viscosity, describe the rheological properties of the ceramic body during the liquid phase sintering process. The rheological parameters depend on the physical and thermo-mechanical characteristics of the material such as relative density, temperature, grain size, diffusion coefficient, and activation energy. Thermal behavior of the cer...

In recent years, wavelet shrinkage has become a very appealing method for data denoising and density function estimation. In particular, Bayesian modelling via hierarchical priors has introduced novel approaches for Wavelet analysis that had become very popular, and are very competitive with standard hard or soft thresholding rules. In this sense, this paper proposes a hierarchical prior that i...

In this study the effect of sintering process in different temperatures on microstructure and morphological properties of sintered hydroxyapatite (HAp) was investigated. HAp powder was prepared by wet precipitation method from following reagents: Ca(OH)2 + H3PO4 in an alkaline conditions. Thermal analysis (TA), X-Ray diffraction method (XRD), FT-IR spectrometry (FT-IR) and scanning electron mic...

In some long term studies, a series of dependent and possibly truncated lifetime data may be observed. Suppose that the lifetimes have a common continuous distribution function F. A popular stochastic measure of the distance between the density function f of the lifetimes and its kernel estimate fn is the integrated square error (ISE). In this paper, we derive a central limit theorem for t...

The glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites play an important role in superconducting Tokamak, which are used to insulate the metal components, such as superconducting winding, cooling pipes, metal electrodes and so on. For the components made of metal and glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites, thermal shrinkage leads to non-ignorable thermal stress, therefore, much attention shou...
