Calorimetry experiments under high pressure were used to clarify the interplay between different states such as superconductivity and antiferromagnetism in CeRhIn5, spin density wave and large moment antiferromagnetism in URu2Si2. Evidences are given on the re-entrance of antiferromagnetism under magnetic field in the superconducting phase of CeRhIn5 up to pc = 2.5 GPa where the Néel temperatur...
Resistivity ( p ) and thermoelectric power (Q) experiments are described for two different ground states at zero pressure (P): a normal phase (CeA13) and a superconducting phase (UBel3). In CeA13, antiferromagnetism occurs clearly at P = 0 and may disappear rapidly under pressure. Magnetic field and pressure experiments in UBe13 show that antiferromagnetism and superconductivity may be antagonist.
We studied the evolution of superconductivity (sc) and antiferromagnetism (afm) in the heavy fermion compound CePt3Si with hydrostatic pressure. We present a pressure-temperature phase diagram established by electrical transport measurements. Pressure shifts the superconducting transition temperature, Tc, to lower temperatures. Antiferromagnetism is suppressed at a critical pressure Pc ≈ 0.5 GPa.
different La concentrations for the purpose of suppressing antiferromagnetism. The values of x prepared are x = 0, 0.15, and 0.5. The samples were grown in single crystal form using an In flux technique, then characterized by x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat. Magnetic susceptibility data reveal that as x increases, the antiferromagnetism of heavy-fermion CeRhIn 5 is...
The heavy fermion system exhibits properties that range from an incommensurate antiferromagnet for small to an exotic superconductor on the Ir-rich end of the phase diagram. At intermediate where antiferromagnetism coexists with superconductivity, two types of magnetic order are observed: the incommensurate one of and a new, commensurate antiferromagnetism that orders separately. The coexistenc...
The Fermi surface calculated within the rotating antiferromagnetism theory undergoes a topological change when doping changes from p-type to n-type, in qualitative agreement with experimental data for n-type cuprate Nd2−xCexCuO4 and p-type La2−xSrxCuO4. Also, the reconstruction of the Fermi surface, observed experimentally close to optimal doping in p-type cuprates, and slightly higher than opt...
We use ultracold spin–1/2 atomic fermions (Li) to realize the Hubbard model on a three-dimensional (3D) optical lattice. At relatively high temperatures and at densities near half-filling, we show that the gas forms a Mott insulator with unordered spins. To observe antiferromagnetic order that is predicted to occur at lower temperatures, we developed the compensated optical lattice method to ev...
Abstract Materials with exceptional magnetism and superconductivity usually conceive emergent physical phenomena. Here, we investigate the properties of (Eu,La)FeAs 2 system double magnetic sublattices. The parent EuFeAs shows anisotropy-associated behaviors, such as Eu-related moment canting exchange bias. Through La doping, anisotropy is enhanced ferromagnetism Eu 2+ realized in overdoped reg...
We report a finding of a pressure-induced quantum critical transition in K0.8Fe(x)Se2 (x = 1.7 and 1.78) superconductors through in situ high-pressure electrical transport and x-ray diffraction measurements in diamond anvil cells. Transitions from metallic Fermi liquid behavior to non-Fermi liquid behavior and from antiferromagnetism to paramagnetism are found in the pressure range of 9.2-10.3 ...
